Jakarta, Indonesia – August 2, 2025 – Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has announced that electricity tariffs will remain unchanged for the third quarter of 2025, covering the period from July to September. This decision applies to both non-subsidized customers and 24 categories of subsidized customers, including social, low-income households, small businesses, small industries, and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
Jisman Simanjuntak, the Director General of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, stated in an official release that the fixed tariff aims to support national economic growth, boost purchasing power, and enhance industrial competitiveness.This policy will be maintained unless the government determines otherwise.
The Ministry’s decision aligns with Regulation Number 28 of 2016,as amended by Regulation Number 8 of 2023,which governs electricity rates provided by PT PLN (Persero). These regulations stipulate that electricity tariff adjustments are made quarterly. future changes to electricity tariffs will be contingent upon fluctuations in macroeconomic indicators such as exchange rates, the Indonesian Crude Price (ICP), inflation, and the reference coal price (HBA).
The current electricity tariffs for august 2025 are as follows:
- Group R-1/TR, 900 VA: Rp 1,352.00 per kWh
- Group R-1/TR, 1,300 VA: Rp 1,444.70 per kWh
- Group R-1/TR, 2,200 VA: Rp 1,444.70 per kWh
- Group R-2/TR, 3,500-5,500 VA: Rp 1,699.53 per kWh
- Group R-3/TR, 6,600 VA and above: Rp 1,699.53 per kWh
- Group B-2/TR, 6,600 VA – 200 KVA: Rp 1,444.70 per kWh
- Group B-3/TM, above 200 kVA: Rp 1,114.74 per kWh
- Group I-3/TM, above 200 kVA: Rp 1,114.74 per kWh
- Group I-4/TT, 30,000 KVA and above: Rp 996.74 per kWh
- Group P-1/TR, 6,600 VA – 200 KVA: Rp 1,699.53 per kWh
- Group P-2/TM, above 200 kVA: Rp 1,522.88 per kWh
- Group P-3/TR, for Public Street Lighting: Rp 1,699.53 per kWh
- Group L/TR, TM, TT: Rp 1,644.52 per kWh
