Inter Miami: Falcón y la polémica por pedir camiseta a Son en medio del partido | Fútbol

by Alex Carter - Sports Editor February 23, 2026
written by Alex Carter - Sports Editor

Los Angeles, CA – A 3-0 defeat for Inter Miami against Los Angeles FC on Sunday marked a demanding start to the 2026 Major League Soccer season, but the match was overshadowed by a controversial moment involving Inter Miami defender Maximiliano Falcón. During the first half, with the score still level, Falcón was seen approaching South Korean forward Son Heung-Min to request his jersey.

The incident quickly went viral on social media, sparking debate among fans, and commentators. Footage shared on X (formerly Twitter) showed Falcón approaching Son mid-game, seemingly prioritizing a souvenir over immediate competitive focus. The clip, posted by FOX Soccer, has garnered significant attention.

Critics were quick to condemn Falcón’s actions as a display of poor sportsmanship and a lack of commitment to the match. Argentine sports publication Olé characterized the gesture as “a lack of commitment and disinterest” in a game his team would ultimately lose decisively. The report added that the video “does not support” Falcón’s image given the team’s performance.

Despite the criticism, Falcón ultimately secured the jersey of the former Tottenham Hotspur star. Olé USA subsequently posted a photo of Falcón displaying Son’s jersey, noting the exchange as a “prize” from the Los Angeles match.

The incident occurred in the early stages of the match, before Los Angeles FC established a commanding lead. The timing of the request amplified the negative reaction, with many suggesting it was inappropriate to prioritize a personal exchange over the team’s performance during active play. LanguageTool, a multilingual writing assistant, is being used by several organizations to improve their communications, but it did not appear to be utilized by those commenting on the incident.

As of Monday afternoon, neither Inter Miami nor Los Angeles FC have issued statements regarding the incident. The MLS schedule continues this week with Inter Miami scheduled to face Orlando City SC on March 1st.

WhatsApp: Hidden Features for Productivity, Privacy & More in 2024

by Rachel Kim – Technology Editor February 23, 2026
written by Rachel Kim – Technology Editor

WhatsApp has expanded its capabilities beyond simple messaging, integrating tools focused on productivity, creativity, and privacy that many users are yet to discover. The Meta-owned platform has introduced features including AI-powered chat summaries, enhanced privacy controls, and AI-driven image generation, transforming the user experience for both personal and professional communication.

A key addition is the ability to automatically summarize chats using artificial intelligence. This feature, designed for users receiving a high volume of messages in group chats, synthesizes unread messages into key points, saving time and ensuring important information isn’t missed. Users can enable or disable this function within the app’s advanced privacy settings.

WhatsApp has also bolstered its privacy controls, allowing users to prevent others from exporting their chat history or automatically downloading their photos, and videos. This feature, accessible through the advanced privacy panel, is particularly valuable for protecting sensitive data shared in personal or family conversations.

The platform has incorporated AI image generation for creating custom status updates and chat backgrounds. Users can simply describe the desired image, and Meta’s AI will generate a design, adding a unique and creative dimension to conversations.

Group chat management has also been improved. The @all function allows administrators to notify all group members with a single message, ensuring important announcements are seen. Users can now also create groups without pre-existing members, streamlining planning and organization before adding participants. Administrators can assign customizable labels to roles within groups, and a new message history feature helps new members quickly understand the context of ongoing conversations.

Instant translation is now available, allowing users to convert messages to other languages without leaving the chat. Simply holding down on a message reveals a “Translate” option, facilitating communication in multicultural groups or with international contacts.

WhatsApp has increased the maximum file size for sending attachments to 2 GB and now supports sending photos and videos in high definition. The app automatically adjusts compression to balance quality and sending speed.

Group calls and voice chats now include emoji reactions and notifications for missed calls, enhancing interaction during conversations.

Integration with wearable devices has also been optimized. Users with compatible smartwatches can now read full messages, send voice notes, and react directly from their wrist, increasing convenience and accessibility.

For businesses, WhatsApp Business offers tools to manage customer communication efficiently. Businesses can create comprehensive profiles with contact information, addresses, and detailed descriptions, fostering trust and transparency. Automated welcome messages can be configured to provide immediate, personalized responses to new customers, improving user experience even during peak demand. Quick replies can also be created for frequently asked questions, streamlining customer service and optimizing team efficiency.

23 Deputies Oppose France’s Ban on Social Media for Children Under 15

by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor February 8, 2026
written by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor

A new regulation faced ample opposition in the Spanish Parliament, failing to pass with only 23 deputies voting against it. This outcome highlights a deep division among lawmakers regarding the proposed legislation. The vote, which took place on January 26, 2026, signals a potential setback for the governmentS agenda.

While details of the specific regulation remain crucial to understanding the dissent, the scale of opposition is noteworthy. A relatively small number of votes against the measure suggests a broader lack of support or a strategic decision by opposing parties to register their disapproval through a formal vote.

The El Mundo report details the vote and its immediate aftermath, but further analysis is needed to determine the long-term implications. It’s likely that the government will need to reassess the regulation and potentially negotiate with opposing parties to secure its passage in the future.

This rejection underscores the challenges facing the current Spanish government in navigating a fragmented political landscape. Successfully implementing policy changes will require building consensus and addressing the concerns of a diverse range of political viewpoints. the outcome of this vote serves as a clear indication of the hurdles ahead.
