Tension Mounts Between “Sing or Lie” Judges Preslava and Maria Ignatova, Sparking fan Debate
Sofia, Bulgaria – November 3, 2025 – Viewers of the Bulgarian singing competition “Sing or Lie” are increasingly questioning the dynamic between judges Preslava, a prominent folk singer, and Maria Ignatova, with speculation mounting over a possible rift between the two personalities. Online forums dedicated to the show are buzzing with observations of perceived animosity displayed during live broadcasts.
The growing discussion centers on subtle cues-specifically, Preslava’s pointed gazes directed at Ignatova, which the latter appears to deliberately ignore, coupled with frequent disagreements regarding contestant performances. This has led fans to wonder if a personal conflict is influencing their on-air interactions, possibly impacting the show’s judging process and overall atmosphere. The situation highlights the frequently enough-scrutinized relationships between personalities in the competitive world of televised talent shows, where on-screen dynamics can quickly become a focal point for audience engagement.
During a recent episode, Preslava experienced a surprising moment involving contestant Georgi Peev, a 32-year-old deputy director from Sofia. Initially, Peev was saved from elimination by fellow judge Andrey, who utilized the show’s “golden counter” feature. Though, Preslava subsequently chose to remove Peev from the competition, a decision that prompted a powerful vocal performance.
“I thought he was an opera singer! Won’t he sing an opera,” Preslava remarked before Peev delivered a portion of an operatic aria, captivating the judges and audience alike. The performance, which included an aria, reportedly gave Preslava, Rachkov, and others “goosebumps.” Peev,a soloist in the performance “Night of the Stars” and currently working on his debut single “Stay,” is employed at 90 SU “Gen. Jose de San Martín” in Sofia and hails originally from Burgas.
