The situation in which the railway line is located Córdoba-Bobadilla regains relevance. The Platform in Defense of the Rural Train in Andalusia (PTRA) will celebrate this Sunday in Bobadilla-Estación a assembly to approve a “road map of mobilizations» throughout Andalusia «in defense of a public railway that provides service to those towns that have railway infrastructure».

The assembly, which is expected to be attended by representatives of groups and social movements involved in the defense of the railway, as well as town councils from all over Andalusia, will allow for debate on the «proposals for the reactivation of Andalusian social mobilization by a train public, social, safe and sustainable».

These actions – which will have the support of the General Confederation of Labor (CGT), whose railway sector, in addition to having been the founder of the PTRA, has been very active in everything related to public service and railway infrastructure in Andalusia – will take shape in a calendar of mobilizations that aim to «put the railway at the center of the political debate and the environmental fight for clean transportation, respectful of the natural environment and low in emissions.

360,000 annual users benefit from Binational transportation between Tijuana and San Diego.

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com March 24, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Tijuana.- With a new binational corridor of the Tijuana Integral Transportation System (SITT), from Plaza Las Américas, in San Diego, to the terminal on Avenida Revolución in this city, the municipality intends to transport 360,000 users per year .

This Thursday the flag was given to this program that aims to “potentiate the offer of mass transportation and help people leave their vehicle at home,” said Obed Silva, head of the Mobility Secretariat.

He mentioned that the Mexicoach company, which will form part of the corridor to cross the border, has provided the service to tourists for 30 years and this guarantees its efficiency.

The company has an agreement with the Customs and Border Protection Office (CBP) for the pre-registration of its passengers, so they automatically know who is going to cross to expedite the process, he said.

Obed Silva explained that the travelers will arrive at a preferential inspection area in the San Ysidro checkpoint, where they will get off the unit to review documents and belongings, and then re-board the unit.

The price for the service will be $10, and in the terminal on the Mexican side there will be QR codes to access the CBP platform and fill out the manifest of intent to cross the border.

He estimated that the transfer will take around 30 minutes, an attractive time for those who travel by private vehicle and wait hours in line.

The director of the SITT, Alejandro Mungaray, explained that the binational corridor will be interconnected with other transportation lines in terminals on both sides of the border to facilitate mobility in mass transportation.

In the United States, the terminal will be at the bus station in the Las Américas shopping plaza, where travelers will be able to transfer to various parts of San Diego, he explained.

On the Mexican side, the Avenida Revolución terminal, in the North Zone, will connect with the SITT route to the Insurgentes Boulevard terminal, but it is intended to expand to the east of the city, in Villas del Campo, added Alejandro Mungaray.

In addition, this terminal will serve as a circuit closure for the new truck route that will run through Aguacaliente, where the state government seeks to replace the Red and Black Taxis.

A patient from a town in Zamora with cancer, without an ambulance for transfers

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com March 8, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

“I have to look for life to be able to get to my chemotherapy sessions in Zamora from Olmillosbecause they deny me the ambulance”. Pura is a neighbor of Olmillos de Valverde diagnosed with breast cancer in the left breast. This neighbor from the Benaventana region explains that, In addition to the problems already associated with the disease she suffers from and the harshness of her treatment, she adds the difficulties that her transfer to the health center entails.

He started his chemotherapy cycles every 21 days in the month of January. In his first cycle from Primary Care, a “flyer” was made to carry out his transfer by ambulance from his home to the Zamora hospital. “But not anymore, I’ve only had an ambulance the first day.”

In the second cycle, he had to count on the help of his son, who works in Bretó and was forced to stop working that day in order to lend a hand during the transfer to Zamora. Pura remembers that after her chemotherapy session “I came all the way throwing up. You don’t even know what to do, whether to go back to Zamora or continue home. It is not something that I wish for anyone,” says the neighbor of Olmillos.

On the 13th he has another cycle planned and, for the moment, he does not know how he will be able to get to his appointment in Zamora. “I have gone to Patient Care and they told me that I am very well to come by public transport. The bus comes to Olmillos on Tuesdays and Fridays, and I have the consultation on Monday. If I want to go by public transport I would have to look for someone to take me to Santovenia. From there the bus leaves at eight, so I don’t get to the consultation anymore. Another option would be to go to Benavente, but I don’t have a way to get there either,” says Pura.

This woman explains that not even these difficulties are the ones that worry her the most. “What they don’t understand is that when I’m not well is when I get chemo. I’m not so concerned about getting to Zamora as about going home, after the chemo session, because you never know how you’re going to get out and the experience is not that it has been good so far, ”laments the neighbor of Olmillos. “I don’t even object to having to wait for other people, as happened in the first cycle. Well, if I have to wait, I wait, but at least that I can make the transfer in good conditions, the best possible.”

The current situation is even more incomprehensible for Pura since her husband has also suffered from cancer and in his case he did have an ambulance for the transfer to Zamora. “I don’t understand what has changed in such a short time.”

Regarding the alternatives that he has been given, he indicates that he has, as he has been informed, the possibility of staying in Zamora the day before the chemotherapy session to be able to arrive at her appointment at half past eight in the morning. “It is something that I do not even consider, and I still have the problem of returning, after the chemo I cannot come by public transport”. Another option is to “take a taxi and I can’t afford that. Unfortunately I don’t see a way out. I hope to have a solution before the 13th because I don’t want to stop going to chemo.”

So that we get rid of our cars: Greens want to make 104 villages out of Hamburg! | Regional

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com February 27, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Hamburg – Hamburg’s Greens live in their own world – everything is friendly, fair, money grows on trees. And the state reigns supreme.

This is the idea of the party of the future of our city. Approved at the party conference at the weekend.

“Your city, your neighborhood – Hamburg worth living in for everyone” is the name of the 16-page lead motion.

The feel-good message: The Greens want Bullerbü to be everywhere. In each of Hamburg’s 104 districts. In Ochsenwerder as well as in the Schanze or Lurup.

Bullerbü is a village from the children’s books by Adtrid Lindgren (1907-2002). Everything is very, very cozy there.

In Green German this means: “We want to make Hamburg a 15-minute city”. Living, working, shopping – everything in the district. For “more variety, more well-being”, of course. And of course: The apartments should all be climate-neutral and still cheap (“maximum 12.50 euros”). Made available by the Saga, which is to become a quasi-national company – like in the old GDR.

“Nobody should experience discrimination because of their place of residence.”

I’m sorry, what?

Should Blankenese be like Bramfeld? In Dulsberg as in Duvenstedt?

Yes, believe the Greens. The main thing is that the car is locked out. Road barriers such as diagonal barriers, bollards and planters should therefore be set up everywhere in residential areas (“Hamburg Blocks”).

But the Greens don’t just think big, they also think very small: the concept of the “nice toilet” must be promoted. Translated: Restaurateurs should open their toilets to everyone.

Who should pay for the unworldly plans? That’s not worth a line to the Greens.

They don’t care about that any more than they do about the city center and industry. None of this appears in the lead motion.

Bizarre: The paper is said to have been defused in advance. The Green Youth even wanted to call for expropriations…
