Portsmouth Approves Plan for Fiveโข $1 Million+ Homes Off Banfield Road
PORTSMOUTH, NH – October 24,โ 2025 – The Portsmouth Zoning Board recently โฃgranted site plan โapproval โfor a five-lot residential development off Banfieldโ Road,โ with each homeโ anticipated โtoโค sell for over $1 โฃmillion. Chinburg Properties, a Newmarket-basedโ developer,โ will construct the โsingle-family houses and associated site amenities asโ part of each lotโ sale.
The development will feature two lots accessed โvia โขa shared driveway entrance on Peverly Hill Road, across from โtheโ YMCA, and three lots accessed through a โคsingle, shared driveway on Banfield Road. A key component of โฃthe plan is theโข preservation of a “wetland buffer along the Banfield Road frontage โขof โฃthe parcel.”
According to project documents presented โby Alexx Monastiero โof the Gove โGroup, representing Chinburg Properties, the โsingle driveway off Banfield Roadโ was โฃdesigned to allow a large majority of existing, mature trees to remain, creating “a natural buffer between Banfieldโค Road and the new homes.”โฃ The development will also โฃutilize overhead power โlines to further limitโ disturbance to the wetland buffer.
Chinburg Builders, founded by New Hampshire native Eric Chinburg in โ1987,isโค a well-established developer in the Seacoast region, with projects in Portsmouth,Dover, and Newmarket.โ monastiero noted the company โis currently building “a number of approved projects in the โคcity.”
Theโ development site โis located near Route 1, the YMCA, Market Basket, and other restaurants and stores.
