Netflix Expands Gaming to โคTVs, Smartphones to Serve as Controllers
LOS GATOS, CA – Netflix is extending its gaming platform beyond mobile devices, bringing a selection of interactive titles to televisions. teh streaming giant will launch a dedicated games category on TVs, allowing subscribers to โplay directly on their big screens while utilizing their smartphones as controllers.
The move represents a notable expansion of Netflix’sโ gaming ambitions, initially launched in 2021 with mobile games available on Android and iOS. This new offering aims to provide a more immersiveโ and social gaming experience for its subscriberโฃ base.
The initialโฃ rollout is planned for โthe winter holidays in โthe United States,โข with availability expected in other regions, including Romania, in โthe first part of next year.
The first five games available will include: LEGO Party!, a competitive party โgame;โค Pictionary: Game Night, the classic โdrawing and guessing game; boggle Party, a word game supporting up to โeight players; Tetris โขTime Warp, a reimagining of the โขiconic puzzle game; and Party Crashers: Fool Your Friends, a social deduction game.
A key feature of โthe TV gaming experience will be a multiplayer mode, โenabling real-time gameplay with friends, each using their own TV and smartphone as a controller.
