Inter Claim Top Spot in serie A with Narrow Victory Over Roma
ROME, October 18, 2025 – Inter Milan secured a temporary lead in teh Serie A standings with a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Roma at the Stadio Olimpico today. The win elevates Inter too 15 points, level with Roma and Napoli, pending AC Milan’s match against Fiorentina.
The match saw Inter take the lead early, but their failure to extend the advantage was attributed to missed opportunities. Roma’s Mkhitaryan notably squandered a chance from inside the penalty area, while Inter dominated midfield through Barella and Calhanoglu. Roma manager Gasperini responded with substitutions in the second half, bringing on Dovbyk and Ziolkowski for Pellegrini and ndicka.
Despite a revitalized approach, Roma couldn’t break through Inter’s defense, bolstered by goalkeeper Sommer and defender Acerbi.
