Disney+ secures Emmy Nominations for Stand-Up Comedy Debut with Bill Burr Special

Disney has made a important entry into the stand-up comedy arena with it’s hulu banner, Hilarious, earning two Emmy nominations for Bill Burr’s “Drop Dead Years,” including Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-recorded).This marks a strategic move for the company into a new content category.

Upcoming Slate Features High-Profile Series on ABC and Hulu

Looking ahead, Disney is set to launch a series of high-profile new shows across ABC and Hulu in the coming months.

Among the anticipated releases is “Chad Powers,” starring Glen Powell. Additionally, a limited series exploring the story of Amanda Knox is in development, featuring Grace Van Patton, who also stars in the successful Hulu show “Tell Me Lies.” The series is expected to garner significant attention for Van Patton’s performance. Furthermore, audiences can anticipate a Hulu project delving into the Murdaugh family, with Jason Clarke and patricia arquette in prominent roles.

The upcoming slate also includes two new series from prolific producer Ryan Murphy. “All’s Fair,” a legal drama starring Kim Kardashian, is expected to be a widely viewed and discussed program, described as “really unique, very, very special.” Also on the horizon is the new “9-1-1” spinoff, “9-1-1: nashville,” headlined by Chris O’Donnell.
