LAPD Investigates Discovery of Human Remains in Two Abandoned Vehicles
Los angeles police are investigating the discovery of human remains in two separate vehicles found at local tow yards this week. The incidents are currently being treated as separate investigations.
The first discovery occurred Monday around 12:20 p.m. at hollywood Tow on Mansfield Avenue. Officers responded to a report of a foul odor emanating from a Tesla, leading to the discovery of remains inside the vehicle’s front trunk. The Tesla, bearing Texas license plates, had been towed from the Bird Streets area of the Hollywood Hills five days prior after being abandoned.
According to law enforcement sources, the remains found in the Tesla were a dismembered head and torso, contained within a bag in the trunk. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene but was unable to determine the gender of the deceased due to the advanced state of decomposition.
The vehicle is registered to David Anthony Burke, a musician known professionally as D4vd. Authorities have confirmed that D4vd is alive and is currently on tour, scheduled to perform in Minneapolis Tuesday evening. He initially gained prominence thru tiktok, where he has amassed 3.6 million followers.
On Tuesday,a second body was found partially burned inside a Honda Civic at a different tow yard.This vehicle was logged as having been towed on August 25th and is connected to an open missing person case.
The investigation into both discoveries is ongoing.
