Norway’s Sovereign Wealth Fund Adds $543 Million too Manhattan Office Holdings
NEW YORK – September 3,2025 – Norway’s sovereign wealth fund,NBIM,has invested $543 million in manhattan office properties,expanding its meaningful real estate portfolio. The investment focuses on prime locations, adding to existing holdings in Times Square, Madison Avenue, and Broadway.
NBIM’s broader investment strategy includes stakes in companies like Nvidia, Tesla, and Rheinmetall, alongside its real estate ventures. As of June 30, the fund’s real estate holdings spanned 15 countries, totaling over $16 billion in the United States with 486 property investments.
The fund’s portfolio already encompasses over a dozen New York buildings,including a 45% stake in Times Square Tower. Beyond New York City, NBIM holds properties in Boston, san Francisco, Las Vegas, and other major U.S. cities.
Earlier this year, NBIM announced a $740 million investment for a 25% stake in a property portfolio in London’s Covent Garden district. It also agreed to pay 240 million euros ($279 million) for a 40% stake in AXA Lifestyle Housing, which manages student and co-living properties in Spain and france.In the frist half of the year, NBIM reported a 4% return on its unlisted real estate investments. The fund’s total investments allocate 1.9% to real estate.
