Prince Andrew Urged to Cooperate with Epstein โExamination as Starmerโฃ Calls for Transparency
JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has stated that anyone with relevant information regarding the Jeffrey Epstein case should be prepared to share it, inโฃ comments widely interpreted as a call for Prince Andrew to cooperate with a โฃUS congressional probe. the remarks come after Andrew โignored a request to testify before the House oversight Committee.
Starmer declinedโ to comment โคspecifically on Andrew’s case but reiterated his long-held “general principle” that individuals โwith pertinent details should disclose them.โ “Anybody who has got relevant information in relation to these kind of casesโค should give that evidence to those that need it,” he told reporters at the G20 summit โin Johannesburg.
US legislators have criticised Andrew for his “silence” during their โขinvestigationโค into Epstein, who died by suicide in a New York prison in 2019 while facingโค sex trafficking adn conspiracy charges. The House Oversight โฃCommittee requestedโ a “transcribed interview” with the former prince concerning his “long-standing friendship” with Epstein.โค Democrats Robert Garcia and Suhas Subramanyam accused Andrew of hiding โขafter reporting they had not received a response.
When pressed on whether his call for transparency applied to Andrew, Starmerโค said, “in theโ end that will be a decision forโข him. But my โgeneral position is,if you haveโ relevant information you should be prepared to share it.”
Andrew, recently stripped โof his royal titles and duties due toโ his association with Epstein, denies any wrongdoing. The move followed the publication of posthumous memoirsโ by Virginia Giuffre, who accused him of sexual assault when sheโค was a teenager, and the release of documentsโ from Epstein’s estate by the US government.
The Metropolitan Police is currently investigating claims that โฃAndrew shared Giuffre’s personal information with his security detail in 2011 and requestedโ they investigate her.
