Egyptians Welcome President sisi with Celebrations During Senate Election vote
Cairo, Egypt – President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi was greeted with enthusiastic cheers and conventional zagareed (ululating cries) by voters in Heliopolis today as he cast his ballot in the 2025 Senate elections. the procession of the President was met with chants of “Long live Egypt” near the Martyr School Committee, Mustafa Yousry Abu Amira.
The President’s route took him past the Federal Palace en route to the polling station.The Senate elections, taking place August 4th and 5th, feature 428 candidates vying for 100 individual seats. A single national list,”Egypt for the Nation,” has been nominated,comprising 100 candidates across four districts for the remaining 100 seats allocated through the list system.
Approximately 63 million registered Egyptian voters are eligible to participate in the elections. The National Elections Authority has established 8,286 polling stations – including schools, health units, and youth centers – to facilitate voting access. Judicial oversight is being provided by the administrative prosecution and state cases authorities, with the participation of 9,500 judges, many assigned to committees within their local districts, and 2,500 judges overseeing elections outside their usual jurisdiction.
The National Elections Authority has accredited 18 embassies, 9 international organizations, and 58 local organizations to monitor the election process. coverage is also being provided by 168 international and 62 local media outlets.
