Pixar‘s celebrated superhero family,the Parrs,will return to the big screen in Incredibles 3,slated for release in 2028-nearly a decade after the 2018 sequel and 24 years following the debut of the original film. The announcement, made at Disney’s Destination D23 presentation, confirms the long-awaited continuation of a franchise that has captivated audiences with its blend of action, humor, and relatable family dynamics.
The forthcoming third installment promises to once again center on the adventures and challenges faced by the Parr family as they navigate their extraordinary abilities and everyday lives. The original the Incredibles premiered in 2004, earning $631.6 million worldwide on a production budget estimated between $92 and $145 million. Incredibles 2 significantly expanded the franchise’s success, grossing $1.243 billion despite a higher $200 million production cost.
Pixar has a robust slate of animated features planned before Incredibles 3 arrives, including Elio (released earlier this year, though it underperformed at the box office), Jumping and Toy Story 5 both scheduled for 2026, and Gatto in 2027.Following the Parr family’s return, Coco 2 is also on the horizon.
During Destination D23, Disney also revealed the title and 2027 release window for the next installment in the Ice Age series, and announced a new original animated film, Hexed, set to premiere in November 2026.
