However,aโค closer look reveals a tiered system of โคsupportโ that placesโ some families on whatโ feels โฃlike the wrongโ side of โฃthe story – a โฃdisparity in access to the full benefits of theโ program.
The program is broadly accessible to all consumers with an โ active โelectricity contract in mainland Portugal, regardless of homeownership status. This wide scopeโฃ is a significant โadvantage.Butโข the level of โfinancial assistance offered is sharply divided.
Families considered more vulnerable – those โbenefiting from the Electricity social Tariff orโค residing in โneighborhoodsโฃ undergoing PRR-funded revitalization under theโฃ “Neighborhoods + Sustainable” initiative -โข will receive considerably higher support values. These families canโ receive up toโฃ 1.683 euros, โฃandโข are also eligible โfor additional aid covering the transportation, installation, and removal ofโ old appliances. โ
Other consumers, while still eligible, are capped atโ a maximum support ofโ 1.100 euros and do โnot qualify for the additional installation assistance. This creates a clear โฃtwo-tiered system.
The support is delivered through digital vouchers redeemable at accredited suppliers. While โthe โvouchers cover a significant portion of the equipment cost, anyโข amountโค exceeding the voucher โฃvalue must be paid โคby โthe consumer.
