The outpouring of grief from family and friends underscores the impact B-King had on the music scene, while also fueling calls for justice. His disappearance sparked diplomatic engagement between Colombia and Mexico,with Colombian President Gustavo Petro requesting assistance from his Mexican counterpart,Claudia Sheinbaum,in locating the two artists initially reported missing.
“They fired him with mariachis and white balloons because he will always be joy. But we also ask the authorities of Mexico and Colombia to do justice,” said B-king’s representative, Juliana Agudelo, to the press.The funeral served as both a festivity of B-King’s life and a demand for answers regarding his untimely death, as authorities in both countries continue their investigations.
