Springfield Police Arrest Three Following July โDrive-By Shooting
SPRINGFIELD, MA (Octoberโ 26,โข 2025) – The Springfield Police โฃDepartment’s โFirearms Investigation Unit has arrested three โขindividuals in connectionโ with a drive-by shooting that occured on Miller โคStreet in the early hours of July โข5th. The arrests followโ the release of a Snapchat video depicting the incident.
According โto police spokesperson Ryan Walsh, detectivesโ responded to reports of shots fired around 2:00 a.m. in a residential neighborhood. Theโค video, obtained by Springfield Police, โขshows occupantsโฃ of a vehicle allegedly discharging firearms from the window while laughing and encouraging one another. Several bullets struckโ occupied homes, penetrating living room couches and โคwindows.
“There โคwere a few occupied houses that โwereโฃ struck;โฃ bullets went into โขliving room couches through windows,” Walshโ stated.
springfieldโ Mayor Domenic Sarno expressed strong disapproval of theโ incident, stating residents, including seniors and โfamilies, contacted him directly after their homesโ were hit by gunfire.
Theโค investigation, conductedโข in collaboration with โthe Westfield Police Department, led to the identificationโค of three suspects:
* Joseph Rossi, 22, โof Southwick: Rossi has a prior history of drug trafficking charges originating โin Westfield. He voluntarily surrendered toโ police in July and remains in custody.
* Douglas Moss, 22, of Springfield: Moss is visible in the Snapchat video allegedly firing โฃa weapon from the vehicle. He has โคa prior โฃrecord of interactions with the Springfield Police Firearms Unit,โ including existing open charges.
*โ Brennan O’Connor, 21, of Springfield: Following identification,โข arrest warrants were issued and executed for โO’Connor.
Authorities currently believeโข the shooting โฃwas not targeted, โฃa circumstance โWalsh โคdescribed โas unusual.
the Hampden Districtโ Attorney’s Office intends to pursue โdangerousness hearings for all three suspects, citing the โseverity of the crime and their priorโข involvement with lawโ enforcement.
