Kendrick Lamar and ‘South Park‘ Movie Release Date Delayed Again
The highly anticipated comedy film โfrom South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, featuring Kendrick Lamar, has once โagain had โits release date pushed back. Park County and pgLang announced theyโค are “re moving (again),” and are “workingโ hard at finishing the movie.”
Originally slated for March 20, 2026, the film’s new theatrical release date remains unconfirmed. The delay stems from scheduling conflicts related to Lamar’s co-headlining tour withโ SZA and Parker and Stone’s ongoing work on the 28thโฃ installment of South Park.โ This marks the project’s first publicly announcedโข release โฃshift, impacting Paramount Pictures’ filmโฃ slate and fans eager toโฃ see the collaboration between the animated series’ creators โขand the Grammy-winning โrapper.
The untitled film is being produced byโ Lamar andโฃ Dave Free through their company PGLang, โขand by Stone โคand Parker for Park โคCounty. โขVernon Chatman penned theโฃ script. Paramount’s Brianโค Robbins โpreviously hailed the screenplay as “one of the funniest and most original scripts โฃwe’ve ever read,” announcing production would begin in summer 2023.
Parker and Stone created South Park โฃ in 1997 and are also known for 2004’s Team America: Worldโ Police and โthe Tony-winning musical The Bookโ of Mormon. Lamar has experienced a busy period, including headlining Super โBowl LVIII and winning five Grammys at the 2025 ceremony, and โคrecently received nine additional Grammy nominations for 2026.
