FC Barcelona Launches Global Restaurant Chain “Can Barça” as Part of Expansion strategy
Burgos, Spain – FC Barcelona has announced a new international expansion initiative: a restaurant chain called Can Barça, developed in partnership with Novadial Corporate. The club is leveraging its brand to create a revenue stream without direct financial investment, with Novadial Corporate covering operational costs.
The first Can Barça location will open in Burgos, with plans for at least ten additional restaurants across America and Asia within the next three years.
During the Ordinary General Assembly, club treasurer Ferran Olivé emphasized the project’s financial benefits, stating it will “guarantee sustainable income without compromising own resources.” FC Barcelona will recieve 6% of all food and drink sales, plus 8.5% to 10% of merchandising profits, and 12% from sales of products specifically under the Can Barça line, with a guaranteed minimum income starting in the first year.
Each restaurant will feature an official FC Barcelona store, creating a combined dining and retail experience managed by Barça Licensing & Merchandising (BLM). Olivé assured quality control will be strictly enforced, with provisions for contract termination if standards aren’t met. Restaurant openings will also include fan engagement activities such as appearances by Barça Legends, autograph sessions, and exclusive exhibits.
This initiative is part of FC Barcelona’s broader economic diversification strategy, which saw the club exceed €880 million in revenue during the 2024-2025 season, boosted by stadium business recovery and BLM’s international growth. Can Barça aims to extend the FC Barcelona experience to fans worldwide, evolving the club’s identity into a globally-recognized lifestyle brand.
