“Sugar Sweet” Offers a Taste of New Sound
Adding to the excitement, Carey released a short preview of a new track titled “Sugar Sweet.” The clip features the singer in a dazzling pink dress, energetically preparing batter in her kitchen while serenading the camera with the lyrics, “I’m-a keep it nice/I’m-a keep it neat/I’m-a keep it sugar/I’m-a keep it sweet.”
Album Confirmation and Previous Hints
During a recent discussion celebrating Apple Music’s 10th anniversary, Carey hinted that her new album was complete. When asked about the project, she expressed a desire to maintain some mystery, stating, Well, it’s the album coming out. I don’t want to tell too much about it, because I just don’t want to reveal the whole thing, you know?
Lead Single “Type Dangerous” and Remixes
The recent single, “Type Dangerous,” and its accompanying video were released last month. In the week prior to its launch, Carey also subtly teased “MC16” on social media. One clip showed her listening to a track labeled “T:D_MC16.mp3,” with her car’s license plate clearly displaying “MC16.” The track has since been remixed by artists including Busta Rhymes, Method Man, Redman, Big Sean, DJ Snake, and Luísa Sonza.
