Liquid Swords describes the โคgameplay as built around aโ “simple, brutal truth: every dayโ costs you,” withโ accruing debt,โค limited action points per job,โ and decisions impacting the city’s response to the player. “Timeโ works against youโฆthere are no do-overs,” โขthe studio stated in a press release.
Founded in 2020 by Christopher Sundberg, creator of the Just Cause franchise while at Avalanche studios,Liquid โขSwords also includes developers previously involvedโ with Mad Max and โขthe Battlefield series. The studio leveragedโ its collective experience inโ combat systems, systemicโข design, animation, and action-oriented storytelling for Samson.
