Patches previously accumulated on the “master” branch that were later reverted or considered questionable have been excluded from the new “main” branch. This action follows a period of internal review and reorganization within the X.Org Server project. The “master” branch is now considered superseded, with all future development focused on the “main” branch, which is publicly accessible. The move coincides with other developments in the broader desktop environment landscape. KDE Plasma 5.27 was released recently, featuring improved Wayland support, KWin tiling capabilities, and a multi-monitor overhaul.
