Shannen Doherty’s longtime Malibu estate has been relisted for $8.25 million, marking a more than $1 million price reduction from its initial $9.5 million listing just over a year after the actress’s death.
The property, located in the exclusive Winding Way enclave above Malibu’s Pacific Coast Highway, was first put on the market in August 2025, one year after Doherty died on July 13, 2024, at the age of 53 following a battle with cancer. The listing price was quickly lowered to $9.45 million, then further reduced to $8.75 million in September 2025 before being temporarily taken off the market, according to property records.
Doherty purchased the three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom home in 2004 for $2.56 million, and it became a sanctuary for her during her two-decade residency, particularly as she navigated her health challenges. The estate spans roughly 5,300 square feet and includes a separate studio.
Chris Cortazzo of Compass, the listing agent and a longtime friend of Doherty’s, was also named the executor of her estate. He described the property as offering the privacy Doherty valued, noting that it became a gathering place for her close circle of friends. Cortazzo recalled Doherty hosting weekly “Italian Night” and “Dancing Night” gatherings at the home.
“When you’re a notable figure, your home becomes your sanctuary,” Cortazzo told the Wall Street Journal. He also shared that Doherty fell in love with the property the moment she saw it, drawn to its secluded location and open floor plan.
Proceeds from the sale will go to Doherty’s estate, with the funds ultimately benefiting her mother, Rosa, as Doherty did not have any children. Though still legally married to photographer Kurt Iswarienko at the time of her death, Doherty had separated from him in 2023, and their divorce was finalized two days after she passed away.
The home underwent extensive renovations in 2018 after being damaged in the Woolsey Fire. Cortazzo noted that the property is filled with treasures Doherty collected during her travels. He also acknowledged increased buyer caution regarding wildfire risk in the area, stating that potential purchasers are now more focused on ensuring properties are protected from potential fire damage, examining factors like brush clearance and roofing materials.
The listing describes the estate as a “striking blend of California modernism and rustic refinement,” featuring a stucco exterior, expansive glass walls offering ocean views, beamed ceilings, and an expansive kitchen with custom cabinetry. Outside, the property includes a lap pool, lush landscaping, and an edible garden, all within a one-acre, hedged parcel designed for privacy.
In addition to the main residence, the property features a detached guesthouse that can function as a studio, additional bedroom, or fitness center. Doherty purchased the home three years after concluding her role as Prue Halliwell on “Charmed” and a decade after leaving “Beverly Hills, 90210.”
Doherty publicly documented her battle with cancer, initially diagnosed in 2015, and continued to share her experiences and positive outlook even as the disease progressed to Stage 4 in 2019. She spoke openly about her determination to continue living and creating, expressing her desire to make a positive impact through her podcast, “Let’s Be Clear,” where Cortazzo was a frequent guest.
