Kielce match Threatened by Heavy Rainfall; Organizers Working to Ensure Play
A PKO Ekstraklasa match scheduled for Sunday, July 27th, in Kielce between Korona Kielce and Legia Warsaw faced significant disruption due to heavy rainfall. As of approximately 6:00 PM, journalist Krzysztof Marciniak of Canal+ Sport reported on the platform X that efforts were underway to make the game playable.
The severe weather conditions cast a considerable doubt over the 2nd round PKO Ekstraklasa fixture, which was slated to begin at 8:15 PM. Marciniak highlighted that organizers were making every effort to proceed wiht the competition.
Though, recent weather updates painted a concerning picture. The Network of storm Observers, via their X profile, indicated “kielce record heavy rainfall. In a short time there may be flooding,” accompanying their report with a video from the scene.
This match was set to be Legia Warsaw’s opening fixture of the season, following their postponement of the 1st round game against Piast Gliwice. Korona Kielce had commenced their season with an away loss to Wisลa Pลock, with a score of 0-2.
