MonstaGear MK84S is a small, low-profile keyboard that is a small and thin mechanical keyboard. In addition, it supports 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth, and a built-in battery, making it a great product to carry around and use.

For thinness, both switches and main keys are low-profile, with Otemu low-profile red switches and sublimated PBT keycaps used.

The layout is 84 keys, without a proper number pad, and is very small and light among mechanical keyboards.

Only the product name is written on the product box, and the sealing tape must be removed to open it.

When you open the box, you will find the components, including the body of the keyboard, manual, and cable.

The Monsta Gear MK84S is a small 84-key mechanical keyboard that is characterized by great portability. Due to the use of low-profile switches and keyboards, the thickness of the keyboard is very thin, and the weight is also very light among mechanical keyboards.

The keys feature a cute moon bunny, giving an overall cute feel. Keycap colors including white, navy blue, yellow, and pink are used harmoniously to create a rather bright feel.

You can also use multimedia functions by using the Fn combination keys (next to Alt). Since the functions are explained in the manual, it is recommended to refer to the manual when using it for the first time.

However, as the keys are not engraved, it may take some getting used to.

An anti-slip pad is placed on the bottom, and as for the anti-slip pad, you can change the angle a little by changing the direction and removing it.

Also, there is a slot on one side to store the 2.4GHz wireless receiver, so you can store the receiver when not in use.

The OS button and the power button are located behind the keyboard, and you can position them according to the OS and connection method you are using. When using a cord, simply connect the included cable to the type-C terminal.

The keyboard is very thin and relatively small in size, making it easy to carry around.

switches and stabilizers

The switches are fitted with Otemu low profile red switches. Because the main pressure is not high, you can use it without any load, and it provides a main feeling similar to a normal linear switch. However, there is a difference in this range because the moving distance is shorter than that of regular mechanical keyboard switches.

As for stabilizers, the most popular cherry style stabilizers are used, and the keys can be easily removed. In the case of low-profile switches, the travel distance is shorter than regular mechanical switches, so switches with stabilizers also provide a very uniform key feel.

For low profile keycaps, all keys are the same height. The keycap material is made of PBT, making it very durable, and the engraving uses a color sublimation method, so the engraving is also durable.

In general, in the case of dye sublimation, a dark color is printed on a light key, but in the case of the F9 above, it looks like a white print on a navy blue background. This part is actually engraved in the traditional style with all the keys except F9 engraved on the white keys, and the keys with a pink background are also engraved in the traditional style. However, the pink-based keys are distinguished by being engraved in such a way that both the background color and the engraving color are engraved.

As for the Moon Rabbit carvings, it can be said that they are all printed with color except for the white parts, which is a traditional painting method.

connection

For a wireless connection, put the connection switch in the middle and connect the wireless cable to the USB C device on the back.

When using a 2.4GHz receiver, set the connection method to 2.4GHz and connect the receiver to the PC you want to use immediately. If you cannot connect immediately, you can connect by pressing Fn + 4. The Fn button is next to the alt button on the right.

And when it is connected through the receiver, it lights up white on the top right.

For Bluetooth, you can press and hold Fn+1, 2, or 3 to enter pairing mode and connect to PC, etc. A total of 3 devices can be connected, and you can change connected devices by short pressing Fn + 1, 2, and 3, which is convenient when using several devices at the same time.

When connected to Bluetooth, the lights in the upper right corner will turn blue, green or yellow according to 1, 2, or 3.

LED

White LED color is supported, and a variety of LED effects can be used, so you can use the keyboard with a more satisfying look by setting the LED effect according to your preference.
