Maui Urban Design Review Board to Consider Five Projects, โIncluding โMฤkena State Park Improvements
The Maui Urban Design Review Board isโ scheduled to review five projects on October 7, encompassing residential developments, renovations, and public park upgrades. Projects under consideration range from single-family homesโค in Kฤซheiโ and Spreckelsville to considerable improvements planned for Mฤkena State Park. โ
Among the proposals โคisโค a special management area assessment for a 6,477-square-foot single-family โขresidence, withโ an 816-square-foot garage, 112-square-foot pool/equipment vault, and associated landscaping at 300 Kalehua St. in Kฤซhei, submitted by applicants โJohn and Paula Stanek.
Also on the agenda is a special management area assessment for theโฃ construction of a โ5,618-square-foot single-family dwelling,โ a detached 973-square-foot garage,โ and โขa โฃ780-square-foot โคaccessoryโ dwelling onโข Nonohe โขPlace in Spreckelsville, requested by โขNonohe LLC.
A major special management area design review is planned for Mฤkena State Park, proposed by consultant Munekiyo hiraga for the state โdepartment ofโค Land and natural Resources’ State Parks Division.The project includes two new comfort stations, outdoorโข showers, parking lot improvements, and the retroactive approval ofโข twoโฃ toll booths and three pay stations.
Another major special management area design review concerns a proposed 2,882-square-foot single-family โresidence, a 1,008-square-foot covered lanai, and a 540-square-foot attached accessory dwelling at 5000 Mฤkena โRoad, โsubmitted by Michelle Cockett on behalf of Geneva Pacific Investments II LLC.
