Slavist Midfielder Jakub Hromada’s Emotional Return to Košice for Europa League Rematch

For Slavist midfielder Jakub Hromada, Thursday’s rematch of the 3rd preliminary round of the Europa League against Dnipro in his home asylum in Košice will be extraordinary.

For the first time, he is returning to his birthplace for football. The 27-year-old Slovak footballer has not yet played at the start of the season, but after serving his cup disciplinary punishment, he hopes to get at least a few minutes on the pitch. He said at the press conference that he was looking for over 40 tickets for his loved ones.

“It’s my hometown, all my friends live here, first of all my family. Not only mine, but also my wife’s. It’s the first time I’m coming back here for football. I’m very happy for it, I’ve been waiting for it for a very long time. Definitely here we plan to live in the future, it’s my heart. I’m happy that we’re playing in Košice, but it doesn’t change anything in the preparation for the match,” said Hromada.

“I don’t have a promise that I will start. I don’t think anyone ever gets a promise from the coach if he will play in the upcoming match. Coaches always make decisions before the match, often even at the last minute. But I would be very happy if I were here at home in Košice he got on the lawn,” added Hromada.

In the auditorium of the new stadium for almost six thousand spectators, he will have a number of loved ones for whom he managed to get tickets. “I solved it with the team leader Standa Vlček, in total there were about 40 tickets. Many acquaintances, friends and family will come to watch the match,” said Hromada.

Prague coach Jindřich Trpišovský will try to start Hromad for the first time in the season at least for a while. A 3-0 lead from the home match could also add to that. “I was wondering if Cuba paid for the tickets or not,” laughed the coach.

“Now I’m under pressure. Kuba was bothering me about it already at the training camp in Austria, he said that it would definitely happen, that we would go to Košice. Even when Dnipro was playing with Panathinaikos Athens (in the preliminary round of the Champions League), he was already reporting hotels to us and all kinds of things in Košice. He’s been living it all the time, it’s great for him. If it’s even a little bit possible, we’ll try to have him appear on the field,” said Trpišovský.

In the opening home match against Dnipro, Hromada was still serving the remainder of a three-match ban from UEFA for a red card in the play-off for the Europa League group the year before last against Legia Warsaw. “If I’m not mistaken, it will be almost two years since my last match in Europe. So I’m happy that I’ve finally cleared the ban and can be available not only for league but also European matches,” Hromada said.

In all four rounds of the league season so far, he only remained on the bench, so he has not played a single minute in the season.

“I wouldn’t say it’s a bad situation. During my time at Slavia, I found myself in it several times. Of course, the minutes are not what I would have imagined. There are a lot of us, we have all positions doubled, so you have to wait for a chance. I am convinced that the chance will come soon, I am doing everything for it in training,” said Hromada.

“I believe in myself and I firmly hope that I will come out of it again. I believe that, as I managed to do it last season, I will succeed now and I will fight my way into the lineup. In any case, the team and its successes come first, and only then my ambition. Everyone wants to play, but it’s a price for being part of a team like Slavia,” added Hromada.

He is excited that a new stadium has recently been built in Košice, where Dnipro has a home asylum due to the Russian military attack on Ukraine. “I am very happy that Košice has such a beautiful stadium. It will be even nicer when the stands behind the goal are completed. I am also very happy that Košice has been promoted back to the first league after many years. The club and the city deserve it,” he said .

“I personally have never played men’s football for Košice, I left for Michalovce when I was 15. I only played in Košice as a youth player, not for MFK, but for KAC Jednota Košice. At that time they had pupils in the first league,” added the former Pilsen player or Liberec.

Mobile phone switched off, then a storm and thoughts about April Fools’ Day. Trpišovský refuted the speculation about the flight to Southampton

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com February 14, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

“Fortunately, my phone was off in the morning, I was dealing with some dental problems. The whirlwind when I turned on the phone was really big. They even called people from our club to see if I really flew away. I was looking to see if it was April Fool’s Day, I didn’t know anything about anything,” smiled Trpišovský in the Premier Club program.

What was it really about? On Monday morning, former journalist Filip Horký shared on Twitter the information that there is a direct private flight from Prague to Southampton. Considering that Southampton football team, the last Premier League team, is currently without a coach, speculations have been rife that Trpišovský may be on board, flying for his first foreign engagement.

The speculations were denied within a few hours by Slavia boss Jaroslav Tvrdík and the coach’s agent Jiří Müller. “If there was any truth to it, I would have a lot of worries and probably wouldn’t be sitting here,” emphasized Trpišovský on Monday evening.

On the other hand, the fact remains that Southampton have indeed been without a head coach since Sunday. Nathan Jones lasted only 94 days on the bench, lost seven times in eight games and needs to pack up.

His successor has not yet been introduced, but whoever it is, he will have a lot of work to do. Southampton loses four points on the non-relegation rungs, but the team is especially prone to individual mistakes, such as in the last meeting at home with Wolves.

There isn’t. A while ago we discussed the dentist together and you will see him tonight on Canal Plus as a guest of their broadcast of the Premier League today.

According to Trpišovský, being fired is the worst thing that can happen in the professional life of a football coach. “No one wants to leave the club, sometimes the impossible is wanted from coaches. There are of course more reasons why the club is somewhere. Suddenly, you want the coach to solve everything, and the question is whether it’s even possible,” he sympathized with Jones.

“It’s incomprehensible to me that you hire a coach and he’s gone in three months,” he shook his head. But he doesn’t have to deal with similar problems himself at the moment.

Trpišovský praised Van Buren and Kolář. He believes the goal will help Ewerton

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com February 11, 2023

The Brazilian winger Ewerton remained a little secluded at the beginning of the spring, after all, he only played the last ten minutes of the already decided match with Jablonec. Against Zbrojovce, he ran onto the field as early as the 54th minute and in four minutes from a direct free kick, he beat the goalkeeper Martin Berkovec, before whom the ball jumped. Midfielder Michal Ševčík bears a large part of the blame, who turned in the wall and cleared space.

“I hope the goal will help him. He lacked points, he struggled a lot, now he had a goal and an assist,” Trpišovský pointed out to the skilful winger, who had previously scored only against České Budějovice and in the cup against Dukla.

He was visible against Brno. “He did what we wanted him to do. He took the situation on himself, carried the ball into the last third of the pitch, we had a problem with that before. In the end, he was limited by a branch. The match in Pardubice was completely different, that’s why he didn’t play, but it was possible to use him in this match. He is strong off the dribble, in one-on-one battles. He looks very good in training,” said the coach to Ewerton, who found Mick van Buren before the second goal. He danced a bit with the ball and then moved it to his teammates.

As soon as the Brazilian dribbler sent Slavia into the lead, goalkeeper Kolář had to pull out. A few tens of seconds after the first goal, Brno gunner Jakub Řezníček rushed at him, but Kolář was close to him and eliminated his lob attempt. In ten minutes, the goalkeeper of the red and white team blocked Ševčík’s shot from a very good position. “He caught two goals, at that moment we had a deaf passage,” felt Trpišovský.

The wheel is currently a support. “Aleš Mandous is sick, he is lying down, that’s why he wasn’t even on the bench. Ondra is currently number one. Thanks to performances, results, speech. But Mandy is also a great goalkeeper, this can be a topic for us in the future. But it is always more pleasant to have two such goalkeepers, a big club requires it, it is common abroad. I like how they both work on each other. Mandy has worked hard, he is extremely hardworking and helps Koli, seeing that he has such a hard work behind him, he is on his heels. I’m glad that Ondra is important in the game as well. I see the biggest change in him after the wedding, he is ambitious, calm, hungry and self-confident,” described the main strategist of the stitched.

Another hero? Yes, again Van Buren, who calmed down the favorite with a goal to make it 2:0 and equaled Brno’s Řezniček with eleven goals in first place in the scorers’ table. He has the gift that when he comes on the pitch, it pours a whole new energy into the stands. “He can get into a heated match and wake up the stadium. We had a big dilemma whether to put him or Venc Jurečka in the foundation. In the last training session, he scored both goals that were scored during the game,” said Trpišovský.

Jurečka started, Van Buren entered the match together with Ewerton. “He immediately won the fight, he is unpleasant for the opponent’s defense, he gains territory for the team. He calmed down a lot. When he shot, I immediately knew it was going to be a goal. He said himself that three years ago that shot would have flown into the fifteenth row. He has the form of life, his setup is fantastic,” the Slavist coach added to the Dutch striker.

Slavia have started training, Trpišovský want three reinforcements before the escape to Portugal

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com January 2, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

The Slavs will complete the first part of January’s training session at home and will retire to Portugal on 10 January. “When we leave, we would like three more players to join us,” Trpišovský told the club’s website.

One of the new signings is expected to be Mladá Boleslav full-back or midfielder David Pech. Sišivani also want striker Mojmír Chytil from Olomouc, but transferring him is a bit complicated. They are also interested in young striker Emmanuel Yeboah from Cluj. There may be someone else in the game. Slavia already lacks offensive sprinter Yira Sor, who moved to Genk.

The celebrants reconvened in Eden for the first time in the new year and together began preparations for the spring portion of the season. 💪

Head coach Jindřich Trpišovský has revealed what awaits the players in the coming weeks. 🗣️

Trpišovský was pleased that players recovering from injuries also joined the training session. “Petr Ševčík was in full team training, he is absolutely healthy. Ivan Schranz has completed team training, but there are limits in his heading game. It will still be tested, but he is in full training, he needs to time. Aleš Mandous has trained. Honza Bořil has completed his first full training session with the team. There we will have to ask ourselves about the accumulation of the load, what he will be able to complete”, explained the red and white coach.

Attacking all-rounder Mick van Buren, second top scorer in the league with nine goals, and defender or defensive midfielder Maksym Talovjerov are returning to training from Liberec. “Mick played great in Liberec, he’s productive, he was one of the best offensive players in the league. He knows what Slavia means, he showed great progress. Maksym was a regular member of the starting lineup, that’s why he left for Liberec. He played evenly and we had some injured players in defence. The agreement with him since the summer is that he will return to training after six months and then we will see what happens next” Trpišovský underlined. Goalkeeper Jan Stejskal from Slovan also returned to Eden with them.

Young defender Denis Halinský, who visited Vlašim in the autumn, will also have a chance to prove himself in team A. “Denis is an interesting player who we managed to sign in the summer. We already had a recommendation for him a year ago , started playing in the second league at a young age. His typology and style of play could be suitable for Slavia in the future. We’ll see what his path will be like, we want to put him to the test. It’s a question of seeing the demands, can you help him to improve,” said the main Slavic strategist.

So far they lack stopper David Hovorka, who is recovering from a serious knee injury, and defensive all-rounder Tomáš Holeš, whose tendon problems have forced him to undergo surgery. He underwent this at the end of November and is now starting to train.

“We hope he heals quickly and can join the team in February. David Hovorka is also in individual mode. Hopefully, he could join team training in February and play some matches in March. The rest of the team is fine.” informed Trpišovský.

Slavia will enter the spring stage on Sunday 29 January at home against Jablonec.
