Bendan Regional Hospital to Enhance Services with New CT scan โขand Cytotoxic โRoom
Bendan Regional Hospital is preparing to โขsignificantly improve โits diagnostic and cancer treatment capabilities with the upcomingโ installation of aโฃ newโฃ CTโข Scan facility and aโ dedicated Cytotoxic Room. While construction of these facilitiesโ is facing delays, hospital officials are confident in eventual completion and the positive impact on patient care.
Mayor Aaf acknowledged that several โgovernment projects scheduled for 2025,including those at Bendanโ Regional Hospital, are experiencing delays, attributing them โฃto “classic problems in construction implementation.” He noted that โขdespite these challenges, projects completed in 2024 are expected โคto meet quality standards. “Many tenders in 2025 willโ be late. The Inspectorate Buildingโฃ will also โbe late, Labkesda will also most likely be late, here it will also be late,” heโค stated.
The hospitalโ received a Sub DAK budget for the construction of โคthe CT Scan room, which will be located in the Emergency Room area. The CT Scanโค equipment itself is expectedโ to be delivered by the Ministry of Health following a survey planned for February 2026, with โคinstallation perhaps beginning inโ March 2026.
Alongsideโฃ the CT Scan room, the hospital is also renovating spaceโฃ on the second floorโ of the old building โto create โคa Cytotoxic Room. This room is specifically designed for โคtheโค safe โcompounding of chemotherapy drugs, ensuring โthe safety โof both healthcare workers and patients.
Dr. Dwi Heriโ Wibawa, Director of โBendan Regionalโค Hospital, explained that the project is currently experiencing a delayโ of approximately โ20 percent, primarily dueโ to procurement and installation challenges with the Air Handling Unit (AHU) equipment. However, the contractor โhas committed toโ completing โขall work by December 12, 2025, though this willโข incur late fines. “They were able to finish on the 12th.โข The โฃconsequenceโ is โof course thereโค will be late fines. But thank God, โall theโ equipment is already at the location and all that remains is to install โit,” Dr. Wibawa said.
The addition of theseโฃ facilities is expected to dramatically improveโฃ the โquality of care at Bendan Regional Hospital. The new โCT Scan facility will increase โฃtheโข capacityโ of radiology services andโฃ expedite theโฃ diagnosis of conditions like stroke, โฃinjuries, and other internal diseases. โDr. Wibawa emphasized the importance of the cytotoxic Room in enhancing cancer treatment services.
“We are committedโฃ to continuingโ toโ improve health services through โคimproving facilities, โimproving management, and building healthโค infrastructure that supportsโ the quality of public services,” โDr. โWibawa concluded. “With the completionโฃ of these two spaces,we hope that Bendan Hospital will be one step further in providing โฃmoreโ humane, modern and quality services.”
