Cowboys Rule Out Five Players for Week 5 Matchup Against Jets
FRISCO, TX – October 4, 2025 - The Dallas Cowboys will be without five players for their Week 5 contest against the New York Jets, the team announced Friday. Defensive end Vandinne Neeland (ankle), linebacker Kenneth Murray (knee), running back Miles Sanders (knee/ankle), right guard Tyler Smith (knee), and cornerback Caelen carson (knee) have all been ruled out.
This wave of absences significantly impacts the Cowboys’ depth on both sides of the ball as they prepare to face the jets. The loss of Smith is particularly notable, weakening the offensive line. Sanders’ continued absence leaves a void in the running back room, and Murray’s injury further thins the linebacker corps. Carson’s unavailability adds to challenges in the secondary.Players currently listed as questionable include Jets edge rusher Jermaine Johnson (ankle) and running back knee Nwangwu (hamstring).
