Sony Aims โขfor 2027 Theatrical Release of ‘Horizon Zero Dawn’ Movie
Sonyโค Pictures is actively pursuingโฃ a 2027 release for a feature film โขadaptation of the critically acclaimed video game horizon Zero Dawn. According to a legal declaration filed October 16 by PlayStation productions head Asad Qizilbash, the studio currently has a working script and is seeking a director, with plans to begin filming in 2026.
the project represents Sony’s continued push to expand its PlayStationโ universe onto the big screen, following the success of The Last of Us on television. Qizilbash emphasized the importance of the game’s protagonist,โ Aloy, as “a key icon โin theโค anticipated film” and vitalโฃ “to the flywheel of โfranchise building.” โThis move comes after previous plans for a Netflix television series were scrapped in 2024 following allegationsโ of abuse and misconduct against intended co-showrunner Steven Blackman.
