Home Depot’s Skelly Returns Alongside Increasingly ⁢Elaborate Halloween Displays

ATLANTA – Halloween decorations are arriving earlier and growing larger at Home ‌Depot,⁣ with the return⁤ of the ⁣popular Skelly ⁣skeleton leading the charge. The retailer is expanding its selection of oversized décor, animatronics, ⁤and themed displays as ‍consumers continue to embrace extended ⁤”spooky ‍season” ‌celebrations.

Home Depot’s aggressive rollout⁤ of Halloween merchandise reflects a broader ‌trend of earlier and⁣ more extravagant seasonal decorating. ⁣The⁤ National Retail Federation forecasts Halloween spending will reach a record $12.2 billion in ⁤2024, with 73% ‌of consumers planning to celebrate.⁤ This demand is⁣ driving retailers to ⁤offer increasingly elaborate and immersive Halloween experiences, capitalizing on the growing enthusiasm for the holiday.

The 12-foot⁢ Skelly skeleton, frist introduced in 2022,quickly became a viral sensation and sold out rapidly. This ⁣year, Skelly is back alongside new, large-scale options ⁣including ⁣a 15-foot spider and a ‍colossal, inflatable dragon. Home Depot is also offering a wider⁤ range of animatronics, projection effects, and ‍themed collections to cater to diverse tastes.

“Customers are looking to create a bigger and more immersive Halloween experience,” said Home Depot spokesperson, confirming the‍ increased investment in Halloween décor. “We’re responding by offering a wider variety of products, from giant inflatables to‍ complex animatronics, to help them bring their spooky visions to life.”

Beyond Skelly,⁢ other retailers are also expanding their⁤ Halloween offerings. Title: Indigenous Peoples’ Day vs. Columbus Day: What You Need to Know

by David Harrison – Chief Editor October 13, 2025
written by David Harrison – Chief Editor

Michigan to ⁢Observe Indigenous⁣ Peoples’ Day Alongside Federal Columbus Day

LANSING – As teh United States marks Columbus Day as a federal holiday on October ‍14, 2025, Michigan will also recognize ⁢Indigenous Peoples’ ⁣Day,‌ acknowledging⁤ the ⁤important impact of European⁢ settlement on Native American communities. The observance comes amid ongoing national debate surrounding⁤ the legacy of Christopher Columbus.

Historical records show Indigenous peoples suffered⁤ theft, loss‍ of their homelands, enslavement, death, forced displacement and disrupted cultural traditions due to European settlement. Native America saw its population decline by 95% within 130 years of initial European contact, according to museum data.

“Celebrating Columbus and other explorers like him⁤ dismisses the devastating losses experienced by Indigenous Peoples ‍of the Western Hemisphere in the past and the ongoing effects of colonialism today,” a statement on⁢ a museum website reads.

Columbus Day remains a federal holiday, with President Trump issuing a proclamation on October 9,⁣ 2025, praising Columbus as “the original American⁢ hero” and criticizing efforts ⁢to reframe the day to ‌focus on Indigenous peoples. The‍ proclamation stated, “This Columbus Day, we honor his life with reverence and gratitude, and we pledge to reclaim his remarkable legacy…from the left-wing arsonists who have‍ sought to destroy his name and dishonor his memory.”

Celebrations of Columbus Day in the U.S.date back to 1792. In 1892, the holiday⁤ became a way to honor Italian immigrants,‌ who faced ⁢discrimination at⁢ the time, following a⁢ proclamation by President⁣ Benjamin Harrison. President⁢ Franklin D.⁣ Roosevelt designated columbus day a ‌federal holiday in 1934.

Bucks⁣ County residents should note several closures on Monday, Oct. 13, ⁢as the day is observed ‌as both Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples’⁢ Day. While most schools and workplaces will‌ remain open, certain services and institutions will be⁢ unavailable.

Columbus Day ‍has been celebrated in the ⁣United States as 1792, commemorating Christopher Columbus’s arrival‌ in North America in 1492. It became a national holiday⁤ in 1892 under President Benjamin harrison, partly intended to foster unity and ease tensions following the 1891 lynching of eleven Italians in New Orleans. In recent years, many⁢ communities have begun recognizing Indigenous Peoples’ Day alongside or⁢ in place of⁢ Columbus Day, acknowledging the impact of colonization on Native American‍ populations.

Here’s a rundown of what is closed on Oct. 13:

* (Facts regarding⁣ specific closures ⁤in Bucks County⁣ would be inserted here if available from the provided text⁣ or external sources. The original text does not list specific ‌closures.)
