Continuing his impressive run, the 20-year-old from Haryanaโs Jhajjar district secured a silver medal in Kazakhstan. He reached the final of the event, where he was narrowly defeated by Brazil’s **Kaian Oliveira**.

โIt has been productive two World Cups for me. Winning a gold and silver will definitely boost my confidence ahead of the World Championships. I want to win gold there. India will also be hosting the World Boxing Cup Finals in Nov and it would be great to win in front of the home crowd. I trained for the World Cups in Brazil with international boxers. That experience helped me a lot.โ

From Fitness Goal to National Champion
**Gulia** began his boxing journey at age 10, initially focused on fitness. His passion ignited as he progressed through district and state competitions. He has since shed significant weight and amassed numerous accolades.
A pivotal moment arrived last March when he was invited to the senior India national camp. Although his debut international competition at the Elorda Cup in Astana saw an early exit, he dedicated himself to refining his technique.
His subsequent victories at the Inter-Services meet, the National Boxing Championships, and the National Games in Uttarakhand this year underscore his dedication and skill development.
Family’s Sacrifices Fuel Boxing Dream
Hailing from a humble background, **Gulia**’s father, **Satyaprakash**, a former farmer and driver, made immense sacrifices to support his family of six and his son’s athletic ambitions.
Facing significant medical expenses after his father’s knee surgery, the family sold their ancestral property to fund **Hitesh**’s boxing career. They relocated to rented accommodation in Jhajjar city.
