Goodwill San Antonio Offers Authentic, Affordable Looks for muertos Fest & Halloween
SAN ANTONIO, TX - Shoppers seeking unique and budget-kind costumes for Muertos Fest and Halloween can find authentic vintage pieces at Goodwill San Antonio, with items starting as low as $5.99. The institution is preparing for its fifth annual fashion show at Muertos Fest on October 25, showcasing lasting looks inspired by decades of style.
Goodwill San Antonio’s initiative provides a cost-effective alternative to purchasing mass-produced costumes, while together supporting its mission of helping people overcome barriers to employment. As the organization approaches its 80th anniversary in 2025, the fashion show’s “decades” theme highlights the availability of genuine vintage clothing within its stores – offering shoppers the “real thing” rather than reproductions.
“That’s what it’s about. The Muertos Fest is about being inclusive, remembering our people that have passed and also giving thanks to the community because we’re all a part of it,” said Agosto Cuellar, manager of community events of Goodwill San Antonio.
According to cuellar, shoppers can assemble a complete costume for under $15. Tops and skirts begin at $5.99, with more elaborate looks ranging from $9.99 to $12.99.
“A lot of this stuff is actually from the era,” Cuellar explained. “It’s from the 80s, from the 70s, and when you go to the costume shop, you’re buying stuff that’s a reproduction. You’re getting the real thing here.”
The Goodwill San antonio fashion show will take place on the Nuevas stage at Muertos Fest, beginning at 5:40 pm on October 25.
“This is just another way to participate in community events and really show people that Goodwill is a place for you to find wonderful fashion while supporting our mission of changing lives to the power of work,” said Libby Castillo, the director of communications for Goodwill San Antonio.
