newport, RI – Roger Federer, the legendaryโ Swiss tennis player, will be formally inducted โinto the International โคtennis Hall of Fame in August 2026. The announcement was made this Wednesday by the ITHF,cementing Federer’s place among the sport’s all-time greats. The ceremony โwill be heldโ in Newport, โRhode Island.
Federer, who retired from professional tennis in 2022, expressed his deep gratitude for the โขhonor. “Itโข is a tremendous honor to be inducted into the Tennis Hall of Fame adn to stand alongside so many great champions. To be recognized in this way by the sport and by my peersโ is a profound honor,” he stated.
The โคfirst male player to achieve 20 Grand Slamโข titles, Federer also holds the โrecord for the โmost โweeks rankedโ world number 1, a remarkable 237 consecutive weeks between 2004 โฃand 2008. He further elaborated on his feelings, saying, “Throughout my career, I have โalways attachedโฃ great importance to the history of tennis and the example set by those who preceded me.To be recognized in this wayโฆ is an immense honor.”
