Two Pennsylvania State Troopers Shot, Suspectโค Killed โDuring โคRetail โTheft Response
HERSHEY, pa. – Two Pennsylvania State Troopers were shot and wounded Friday whileโ responding to a reported retailโ theft at a Hershey chocolate store, authoritiesโ said.The suspect involved in the shooting was later killed by โขpolice.
The incident unfolded at approximately 3:18 p.m.at the Hershey’s Chocolate World store in Derry Township, โคDauphin County. Troopers responded to โคaโฃ call regarding a retail theft in progressโฃ and were promptly met withโ gunfire upon arrival,according to โPennsylvania State โฃPolice Commissioner Colonel Christopher Paris. Both โขtroopers sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to โarea hospitals. Their conditions were not immediately released, but authorities stated theyโ are expected toโค recover.
“This is a stark reminder ofโค the dangers our troopers face every day while โขservingโข the citizens ofโ Pennsylvania,” paris โsaid duringโค a press conference. “They put themselves inโค harm’s way โขto protect our communities, and we are incredibly โgratefulโ for their bravery.”
The suspect, whose identity has not โyet been released, โwas pursued by troopersโข and ultimately died after an exchange of โgunfire with law enforcement.No other injuries were โreported.

Last month, three police officers in York County wereโฃ killed in anโ ambush while responding to a โขdomestic disturbance.
