Google has unexpectedly released a second October update for its Pixel 7, 7 Pro, 8, and 8 Pro smartphones, addressing reported issues with cellular connectivity and audio quality. The update, rolling out gradually too users, follows an initial October patch and signals Google’s swift response to user feedback concerning critical device functionality.This second October update arrives as Pixel owners experienced intermittent cellular signal drops and distorted audio during calls. While Google initially addressed some concerns with the first patch, reports of lingering problems prompted the release of this additional fix. The update is being distributed in phases, dependent on carrier and device, meaning not all users will receive it simultaneously.
According to google, the update focuses on resolving these specific connectivity and audio issues, aiming to provide a more stable and reliable experience for Pixel users. The company states the rollout will continue “gradually in the coming weeks depending on the network operator and device.”
Notably, the older Pixel watch (2022) will continue to receive only security updates and bug fixes, with no feature updates planned.
