DFB‘s Leweling Exits National Team Camp with Muscle Issue
Sinsheim, Germany – Germany’s national team will be without winger Leon Leweling for the remainder of the current international break due to muscle problems. The Union Berlin player was unable to feature in the 4-0 victory over Luxembourg in Sinsheim and has been released to return to his club for recovery.
Leweling, 22, had earned a starting position in the previous international fixture, a 3-1 win against Northern Ireland in Cologne, where he impressed as a right-sided wing-back. His absence presents a setback for the DFB team as they continue preparations for upcoming matches.
The German Football Association (DFB) has not announced plans for a replacement at this time. Leweling will focus on regaining fitness with the aim of being available for Union Berlin’s Bundesliga clash against Wolfsburg next Saturday at 3:30 PM.
