Selb Repair café Issues Urgent Call for Volunteers to Meet Repair Demand
SELB – The Selb Repair Café,a popular community service founded eight years ago,is seeking volunteer electronics mechanics and engineers to address a surge in repair requests. Since its inception by Gerd Bock, deputy chairman of Selb’s senior citizens’ advisory board, the café has successfully repaired approximately 70 percent of the over 2,500 devices brought in for fixing.
The café, wich handles a wide range of items including vacuum cleaners, radios, DVD players, and coffee machines, is currently facing a backlog due to the recent unavailability of two key volunteers. This has placed an unsustainable burden on remaining staff. “I cannot accept this,” stated Gerd Bock, emphasizing the need for additional support.
Individuals interested in volunteering can contact the repair Café at 09287-1434 or 0160-6965455.
The next repair session is scheduled for Monday, September 15, from 3:30 p.m.to 5:00 p.m. Currently, devices numbered 118, 166, 167, 188, 189, 200, 213, 215, 216, 219, 222, 229, 231, and 233 are awaiting repair.
