Responding ‌to player feedback ‍regarding the length of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, co-director Naoki Hamaguchi has stated that ‌the upcoming third installment ​in the⁣ Final Fantasy VII Remake project will feature a more streamlined narrative. Some fans found sections of Rebirth,released in 2024,to be⁢ overly long.

Hamaguchi-san explained in a recent interview with ScreenRant that while ‍the extensive length of Rebirth was⁤ intentional – designed to facilitate world-building and character development – the ⁤development team recognizes modern gamers often juggle multiple titles concurrently. ⁢ Acknowledging a player preference for concise experiences, Hamaguchi promised⁢ the concluding ⁣chapter will strike a better balance between storytelling and gameplay. “I​ don’t‍ think Rebirth’s chapters were longer ⁢than they needed to be, but we understand that players thes days are playing a lot of titles simultaneously occurring,” he said. “In the ‌third part, we’re trying to find a balance between storytelling and gameplay, so that the ‌game feels⁣ tighter overall.”

Development of Final Fantasy VII Remake ⁣”Part 3″ began immediately following the release of Rebirth. Currently in production for PlayStation, the game is expected ⁤to eventually arrive on other platforms, mirroring the release pattern of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, which is slated for Xbox Series X/S and ⁢Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025.
