Samsung โขPauses Android 16 Rollout for Galaxy S24,โ S23, and select S22 Models
Samsung has temporarily halted the distribution of its Android 16 upgrade for the Galaxy S24 series in Korea, extending a previously reported withdrawal affecting other devices. โคWhile theโ update remains available for Galaxy S24 users in Europe,โ the company has also โคpulledโฃ the software for additional models, including portions of the Galaxy S23 line and,โ beyond the S22 ultra, further S22 variants.
The recall follows a similar pattern โฃobserved last week withโค theโค Galaxy S22, were the updateโ was initially released thanโ paused due to reported issues.Users who โฃhave already โinstalled the android 16 upgrade are advised thatโข their devices will continue to functionโ normally. However, those who have not yet received or installed the updateโ will be unable to do so until Samsung re-releases it, possibly โin aโ revised โขversion. Samsung appears toโ be prioritizingโ a stable user experience, โindicating progress of an improved software build specifically for theโ S22โข Ultra, and potentially for other affected โdevices.
Currently, the Galaxy S22 and S22+ updates haveโ been re-released withoutโข changes, but the S22 Ultraโ remains unavailable. Detailsโ regarding theโฃ Galaxy S23 series are still โขemerging,โ and Samsung has not yet provided a timeline for the re-release of the Android 16 update for โคany of the affected models. โSamsung is asking users โคwithโข Galaxy S23 devicesโข running Android 16 to report any bugs or issues they are experiencing.
