Samsung has expanded the availability of its Galaxy A07 5G smartphone, bringing the budget-friendly device to more markets following initial launches in Asia. The company introduced the phone in countries including India, Thailand, and the Philippines in recent weeks, offering a step up from its predecessor, the Galaxy A06 5G, with a faster display and increased battery capacity.
The Galaxy A07 5G will be available starting January 30 in select regions, though Samsung has not yet specified all locations. The phone will be offered in Black, Light Green, and Light Violet color options.
The device features a 6.7-inch PLS LCD screen with HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, a significant upgrade for smoother visuals. The display also boasts a peak brightness of up to 800 nits in High Brightness Mode. A U-shaped notch houses the front-facing camera. Powering the A07 5G is a 6,000mAh battery, representing a 20% increase in capacity compared to the 5,000mAh battery found in the Galaxy A06 5G, according to Samsung.
The Galaxy A07 5G carries an IP54 rating, providing limited protection against dust and water splashes. A side-mounted fingerprint reader offers biometric security. Samsung has utilized a glass-fiber-reinforced polymer material for the back panel, aiming to enhance the phone’s durability.
The phone’s camera system includes a 50MP primary rear sensor, complemented by a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies and video calls, an 8MP front-facing camera is included. Both the front and rear cameras are capable of recording Full HD (1080p) video at 30 frames per second.
Under the hood, the Galaxy A07 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor. It’s available with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Storage can be expanded via a microSD card slot. The device retains a 3.5mm headphone jack. Connectivity options include 5G, GPS, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, and a USB 2.0 Type-C port.
Samsung is committing to a long-term software support schedule for the Galaxy A07 5G, promising six generations of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates. The phone ships with Android 16 and Samsung’s One UI 8.0 preinstalled. The device also integrates Google’s Circle to Search and Gemini features, including Gemini Live. Security is bolstered by Samsung Knox Vault, Auto Blocker, and Google’s Theft Protection.
The Galaxy A07 5G is positioned as a competitively priced smartphone in the under Rs. 25,000 segment in India, alongside other Samsung models like the Galaxy M36 5G, according to recent market analysis.
