Florida Divers Discover $1 Million Spanish Treasure Load

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com October 3, 2025
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

$1⁤ Million in Spanish treasure⁤ Recovered Off Florida Coast

Florida – A shipwreck salvage company, 1715 Fleet – Queens Jewels LLC, has ⁤recovered over 1,000 silver and gold coins estimated to be worth⁢ $1 million from a site off the Atlantic coast of Florida, dubbed the ‘treasury Costa.’ The revelation, announced this week, adds ‌to the rich history‌ of treasure recovered from the ⁣1715 Spanish fleet disaster.

The coins are believed to have been minted in Spanish colonies of Bolivia, mexico, and ‌Peru. This isn’t the first ⁢treasure found at this location; in 1715, a hurricane sank a fleet of Spanish ships returning to Spain laden with riches from the New world, scattering their cargo⁤ across the‌ seabed.

For decades, ‍treasure hunters and salvage teams‍ have recovered millions of dollars worth of gold coins from the area stretching from Melbourne to Fort‌ Pierce. The recently‌ recovered coins still bear visible dates and markings from the CECA (Casa ⁣de Moneda – Royal Mint), offering potential new insights for historians and collectors.

“This discovery is not just about the treasure ⁤itself, but‍ about the stories that ⁤it tells,”⁢ said Sal Guttuso, director of Operations for the salvage company, in a statement. “Each currency is ‍a ⁢piece of history, a tangible bond‌ with the people who‍ lived, worked and sailed during the Golden Age ⁢of the Spanish⁤ Empire. Finding 1,000 of them in a ⁢single recovery is both rare and extraordinary.”

The salvage operation utilizes diving crews, ships, underwater metal ‌detectors, and ⁣both manual sifting⁢ and suction methods to examine the seabed.

The recovery comes after Florida authorities recovered ⁤stolen gold coins last year from a former employee of 1715 Fleet – Queens Jewels LLC. Florida law dictates that any “hidden treasure” or historical artifacts found in ‌state‍ lands or waters belong to the state, though salvage companies are permitted to conduct recovery services, with approximately⁣ 20% of ⁢recovered archaeological ‍materials ‍retained by the state for research and public display.

Naples Airport: Council Rescinds Controversial Resolution

by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor October 1, 2025

Naples City council Reverses Course on Airport Authority Resolution Following ⁤Lawsuit Threat

NAPLES, Fla. – The Naples City‍ Council voted Wednesday ‍to rescind a resolution passed in June that would have expanded the council’s oversight of ⁣naples Airport Authority⁤ projects, averting ⁤a potential lawsuit ‌from airport ⁣advocates.

The move comes after Friends of the Naples ‌Airport (FONA) issued a pre-suit notice ⁢in September, arguing the resolution violated Florida Senate Bill ⁤180 and granted the council undue influence over the independent airport‌ authority. SB 180, ⁣recently ⁤enacted into law, ⁣aims to clarify‌ the roles and responsibilities of airport authorities and their governing bodies.

“It’s⁣ safety, it’s economic impact – these are not‌ things to be messed with lightly. And we are very ⁣pleased⁣ they ‍chose to⁤ do this route,” said Christel Johnson, a FONA ‍member.

FONA had prepared for a legal challenge, believing their case was strong. “We had a‌ very strong ⁤case and they ‌had a very weak case. We’re happy we’re not wasting money ⁤litigating⁤ something as senseless as this,” stated John Allen, also a member of FONA.

City leaders‌ acknowledged the decision to withdraw the ‍resolution ⁣was made to avoid legal costs. However, they ‍indicated plans to revisit‍ the ⁣issue in the future to clarify the extent of the council’s authority regarding airport operations.

During the council ‌meeting, ‌tensions surfaced regarding past interactions between‌ the council and the airport authority,‍ including discussions about⁤ grant applications. Councilman⁢ Kramer questioned‌ statements made by Mayor Heitmann‍ regarding the council’s influence, referencing meeting ⁤minutes. Mayor Heitmann clarified that the airport authority⁣ is not obligated to follow the council’s recommendations, ‌and ultimately ⁢did not accept⁣ them.

The Old ‍Naples Association, which has advocated for increased ‍city control over the airport, declined to comment on the council’s decision.

Despite the resolution’s rescission, FONA’s attorney anticipates continued debate over airport ⁢governance. State lawmakers are also currently considering legislation that could further limit the city council’s power to appoint members to the Naples Airport Authority board.

The ⁤council ⁣intends to meet with airport leaders in the coming ‍weeks to discuss and define⁤ their respective roles.

Miami ‍Gardens, FL – Miami‍ Dolphins superstar wide ⁢receiver Tyreek Hill’s season is in jeopardy after suffering a dislocated left knee during Monday night’s game against the New York Jets.⁢ The injury occurred with 13:21 remaining in the third quarter after Hill made a catch near⁣ the sideline and was tackled,⁤ resulting in a visibly severe twist to his knee.

Dolphins head coach Mike ⁤McDaniel confirmed the diagnosis of a dislocated knee and stated Hill would remain hospitalized overnight for⁢ further evaluation. An air cast was⁤ promptly applied to his leg before he was carted off the field to a chorus of cheers from⁤ concerned fans, wich Hill acknowledged with clapping and a positive attitude.

“He was probably in the best spirits of any player that I’ve ever seen (have) such a terrible experience,” McDaniel told reporters. “He immediately had wide eyes and ⁤was ⁢talking, ‘I’m good, just make sure the guys‍ get this win.’ He was focused on the team.”

Extensive Testing Underway

The Dolphins are awaiting the results of an MRI and CT ‍scan conducted ‌late Monday night to determine the full extent of the damage. Hill’s ‍agent, Drew ⁢Rosenhaus, outlined the key areas of ⁤concern ⁤in an interview‌ with WSVN, stating, “Are there any torn ligaments? Is there torn cartilage? Are there any broken bones? You ⁢check on ⁣the blood⁢ flow. Any,God forbid, nerve damage?”

Medical personnel attended to Hill swiftly, and he was transported to a nearby hospital accompanied by‍ the team’s medical and athletic training staff.

Dolphins Rally to victory Despite Loss

Despite the unsettling⁤ scene and ⁣the potential loss of their star ‍receiver, the Dolphins rallied⁢ to defeat the ⁤Jets 27-21, securing their first win of the season. Hill’s positive demeanor reportedly helped calm⁣ the team during a difficult moment.

“That’s ‌just his personality. That’s just who he is,” ⁢said Dolphins quarterback Tua tagovailoa. “Our thoughts and our prayers are with him.”

League Reacts to Hill’s Injury

The injury sent ⁢shockwaves throughout⁤ the‌ NFL,‍ with ⁤players and teams offering their support.Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Hill’s former teammate, posted a message ⁢of support ⁢on X (formerly Twitter): “Prayers up man…..”

Hill’s Impact ⁢and Future

Hill,a⁣ five-time ⁣All-Pro selection ‍and Super Bowl champion ‍with the Chiefs, has been a dominant force in the NFL since entering the league in 2017. He ⁤currently leads the league in receiving yards over that span with 11,363 and has 819 career receptions. ‍he had six catches for a season-high before ⁢the injury.

A 6-year-old’s eyes were crossed. Doctors found a fast-growing brain tumor.

Six-Year-Old’s Crossed eyes Lead⁢ to Brain Tumor Diagnosis, Triumphant Treatment

NEW YORK – A six-year-old girl’s persistent crossed eyes prompted a diagnosis of a fast-growing brain tumor, but after treatment, she ‌is now thriving and back ⁤in second grade, her mother says. Imani Dell⁣ of Maryland underwent treatment after her condition was discovered,‍ and recent scans⁣ show no⁢ signs of recurrence.

Imani’s story highlights the importance‌ of vigilance regarding seemingly minor health concerns⁤ in children, and the potential for successful outcomes even with serious diagnoses. Brain tumors are the most common type of cancer⁣ in children, according to‌ the National Brain Tumor Society, ‍affecting an estimated 4,000 children in the U.S. each year. ‌Early detection and advancements in treatment are improving survival rates and quality of life for young patients.

Imani’s mother, Johnesha Brown, noticed her⁤ daughter’s ⁢eyes‌ were not aligning properly. After seeking medical attention, doctors discovered a tumor.”It was a really scary time,” Brown⁤ said, “but we were fortunate to get a swift diagnosis‌ and start treatment.”

dr. McCrea oversaw Imani’s care and confirmed the scans are currently “looking good.” Imani will continue to undergo regular scans, initially frequent, which will become less often as long as the cancer ⁣remains in remission. Brown credits Imani’s renewed⁣ health⁣ insurance ⁤coverage for enabling‌ access⁤ to the full course of treatment, which also included participation in ⁤two ‍research studies.

“My child really finished treatment, and she’s going back to being her normal self again,” Brown said. “I’m happy. I’m very excited. Everything just is perfect to me.” ‍Imani recently started second grade, marking a notable milestone in‌ her recovery.

Two Tropical Systems Brew in Atlantic, Potential for Unusual “Fujiwhara Effect” – Florida Residents Urged to Monitor

West Palm Beach, FL ‍- September ⁣24, 2025 – Floridians are bracing for potential impacts from‌ two tropical systems currently ⁣churning in teh Atlantic Ocean. While a direct landfall in the Sunshine state is not currently predicted, meteorologists are advising residents from Florida to the Carolinas to closely monitor the ⁢developing situation. The systems, with a ⁣high probability of strengthening into cyclones, present⁤ a complex ⁣forecast intricate⁤ by their⁤ proximity adn the‍ possibility of a rare⁢ meteorological phenomenon.

One of⁤ the systems ‍has already been designated as Tropical Storm Humberto as⁢ of today, September 24th. The next storm ‌on the list is imelda, should the second system reach tropical storm status.

(Watch Video: gas, Electric auto ⁢prep: ⁣What to⁣ Know Ahead of the Storm, Evacuation) USA Today Florida Network’s John ⁣A. Torres and kimberly Miller‍ discuss ⁣essential preparations for yoru vehicles in the event of a potential evacuation.

Key Takeaways:

* Two systems brewing: Both systems have a high chance of developing into cyclones.
*⁢ No direct landfall expected (currently): A⁢ diving jet stream is expected to steer ⁢the systems away from Florida.
*⁤ Monitor closely: Residents from Florida to the carolinas should⁢ stay informed.
* ‍ Next names: Humberto and Imelda are the⁢ next names on the ⁣2025 hurricane list.

The unusual aspect of‌ this situation lies in ‌the potential for what’s known as the ‍ Fujiwhara Effect. ‍Typically observed⁤ with typhoons in ‌the western Pacific,⁣ this occurs when two ⁤cyclones are ⁢close enough that ‌they begin ⁢to rotate around each other. ⁤While a ⁣full “do-si-do” is unlikely, the systems are⁣ expected to interact,⁣ potentially ⁢influencing each ⁢other’s paths.

“Depending on where these tropical cyclones ‍form and how strong they become, one could get absorbed by ⁣the other, ⁣they could maintain independence, or they could dance around each other,” ⁢explains‌ link to Palm Beach Post article⁣ on hurricane season.

A diving⁣ jet stream over the southeast is currently forecast ‍to keep both systems from‍ making ‌a Sunshine State landfall. However, authorities emphasize ‌the importance of‍ preparedness.⁣
