A Florida man is facing second-degree murder โคcharges afterโข allegedly killing his ex-girlfriend and then posting photos to Facebook โsuggesting their relationship continued, authorities said. The lee County Sheriff’s office confirmed โขthe โdeath of Zenaida โขAlvarez, โ39, and the subsequent arrest of her ex-partner, Cuesta de โArmas.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a scene were they found Alvarezโข deceased with multiple wounds. the attacker โhadโ fled the scene before their โขarrival.
Hours after the alleged murder,Cuesta de Armas reportedly shared photos of Alvarez โon his โFacebook account,falsely portraying the continuation of their relationship. A relative of the victim responded toโ the posts, writing, “My cousin hasโฃ regrettably died and my family is going โthrough this pain.โข I don’t know how that man โhadโข the courage to upload โthat photo.”
De Armas โฃwas arrested on November 9th while attempting toโข escape to Hardee County. In addition to the second-degree murder charge, he is also accused of โขattacking โขan officer during his escape attempt.โ Theโค investigationโ is ongoing.
