AI-Powered Platform Aims to Revolutionize fashion Manufacturing, Addressing Fit and โEfficiency Issues
NEW YORK – A new digital assetโค management (DAM) โฃplatform, AI-First DAM, is poised toโข disruptโ the apparel industry by leveraging 3D โtechnology and artificial intelligence to โstreamline product growth andโค address long-standing challenges in fit and โฃmanufacturing efficiency. โLaunchedโ in February by โPixascale, the platform offers a centralizedโ system for managing all components ofโฃ clothing design, from initial concepts to final production details.
The impetus for โthe platform stems from a recognized industry need for improved processes. As one industry insider โnoted, “I believe there’sโฃ aโฃ way to produce garments efficiently if you set up your โคmanufacturing facility correctly. I want to โคfix our fit problem, but I โคalso realize weโ can’t do that as an industry without changing theโ manufacturing process.”
Pixascale CEO Kristian Sons, a former โtechnical โคlead for digital creation at Adidas (whereโฃ he worked for nine years before leaving in January), developed the โฃcloud-based platform to overcome the common issue of โfragmented data storage. Currently, many โapparel โcompanies rely on decentralized systems like employees’ local drives or Microsoft SharePoint for storing crucial 3Dโ files, limiting โaccessibility and hindering collaboration.
“Getting this information into a platform that โฃeveryone can easily โขaccess โคand track what others did really โฃbuilds a foundation โfor โขcollaboration,” Sons โexplained.
The AI-First DAM system provides shared access to digital assets – including images,videos,3D models, base styles, andโค documents – โคfor all stakeholders, including designers, seamstresses, and manufacturers. It also โintegrates with existing client file management systems, ensuringโ everyone is working โwith theโฃ mostโ up-to-date information. The platform further boasts a thorough library ofโ embellishments like zippers and buttons,โ alongside a โwide โคrangeโฃ ofโฃ fabricโค options.
Beyond simple asset management, Pixascaleโค is integrating AI agents and large language models to automate research tasks and accelerate the design process. These โขAI tools can โขsuggest new product ideas, explore โdifferent โขsilhouettes, and even โmodify existing designs with updated colors, offering designers a valuable starting point rather than requiring them to begin from scratch.
“These AI agents โคcertainly will not โbe perfect, but they โคareโ a good starting point so designers don’t haveโ to startโค from scratch,” โSons said. “I think usingโ AI agents is super exciting as in the pastโฃ few years in theโค fashion industry, we have beenโ talking about how AI would do the creative parts, likeโ designing aโ product. But now we’re talking about theโ AI โdoing the low-level tasks.”
