Mornico Losana, Italy – The โฃMeiland family’s Italian adventure โisโค off to โคa characteristicallyโ candid start, with brother Martien expressing initial reservations about their new holidayโข home โคin Chateau โMeiland: La Dolce Vita. Despite arriving toโ praise from Erica and Maxime-who described the property as “amazing” and “very beautiful”-Martien’s brother Jaap initiallyโ dismissed it as “old junk” and “not โlooking like much.”
The family’s journey to the picturesque village of Mornico Losanaโข was punctuated by Jaap’s runningโค commentary,โฃ includingโ questioningโ the location (“Do you evenโฃ want to โคbe found here?”) and the โflooring choices of โขthe home (“What poor floors, man.โ Couldn’t you have โคdone a nice โขlight tile?”). He also โฃremarked on the mountainous terrain, stating,”that’s โniceโ that we’re going into the mountains.I โขdidn’t โlike theโ flat part at โall.”
Further adding to the family dynamic, Jaap was โขcritical of Martien’s attemptโข at an “Italiano” look, specifically a painted mustache. โฃ”Hey,โ what doโ you look like?” Jaap โquestioned.โ “This doesn’t look goodโฆCut it out. Shave that thing off, you look โฃtwenty โyears older.”
Despite the initial critiques, a truce was called, โฃwith a playful agreement made over rosรฉ: positivity would be rewarded โฃwith food.โ The family acknowledges theirโ “real-life soap” is nearing it’s conclusion but โhasn’t ruled out a future return to television.
Chateau Meiland: La Dolce Vita airs Mondaysโ at 8:30 PM on SBS6.
