Two Shootings Under Inquiry in Beaufort County Following Recent Mass Shooting
Beaufort County,SC – The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two separate shootings that occurred on October 20th and 21st,following a mass shooting on October 12th that left four dead and sixteen injured. One person sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound in the second incident.
the first shooting was reported around 11 p.m. on October 20th at the Vista View apartment complex on Haigler Boulevard in Bluffton. Deputies responding to numerous calls of gunfire found property damage consistent with shots fired, but no injuries were reported. Apartment buildings and vehicles were struck by gunfire, according to Lieutenant Daniel Allen of the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
The second shooting occurred around 4 a.m. on October 21st in the area of Shiney Road on St. Helena Island. Deputies were dispatched to a report of gunshots and learned a 19-year-old male was en route to the hospital with a gunshot wound. The Sheriff’s Office confirmed the victim was in stable condition. Three other individuals were inside the residence at the time and were not injured.
“It does not appear that either of the shootings were related [to the mass shooting Oct. 12] but it’s also to early to rule anything out,” Allen said Tuesday afternoon.”With all cases, we follow the evidence and look into any information given by witnesses.”
The shiney Road shooting took place approximately two miles from the site of the October 12th mass shooting.

As of Tuesday afternoon,the Sheriff’s Office stated that evidence from the October 12th mass shooting is still being analyzed and no new information is currently available.
