Berlin, Germany - Dolby Laboratories today announced the launch of Dolby Vision 2, a next-generation HDR solution featuring artificial intelligence, debuting first on select Hisense televisions at IFA 2025. Building upon the foundation of Dolby Vision established in 2014, the new standard aims too deliver a more dynamic and accurate visual experience.
Dolby Vision 2 expands upon the original format with features like Authentic Motion, offering improved movement control, and leverages the world’s first AI-powered tools to enhance scene fidelity and reduce unwanted visual artifacts. A core component is Content Intelligence, an AI-driven system that automatically customizes TV display settings based on both the content and the viewing habitat.
This includes Precision Black, designed to ensure detail is visible in dark HDR scenes, and Light Sense, which adjusts image settings to optimize viewing based on ambient room lighting. Dolby also highlighted improvements for sports and gaming, including White-Point adjustments and smoother animation.
A premium version, Dolby Vision 2 Max, was also announced, promising an even more refined experience on high-end televisions, though specific details remain undisclosed.
Hisense will be the first manufacturer to integrate Dolby Vision 2, utilizing the technology in new MINI-LED TVs powered by Mediatek’s Pentonic 800 processor and Miravision Pro PQ Engine. Select Hisense models supporting Dolby Vision 2 are expected to be available next year.[Source:[Source:
