Buya Yahya warned that using DNA tests to determine nasab could have far-reaching and damaging consequences. “This can cause damage, God forbid,‍ and⁢ lead​ people to abandon Sharia,” he stated. “Imagine a situation where someone’s nasab ⁤is clear within the community, but it is indeed canceled simply as of a DNA⁤ test. This ​can create chaos, because if⁤ a child doesn’t ‌have a legitimate father, who will ‌be responsible?” he questioned.

He further cautioned against using DNA ‌evidence to invalidate existing lineage, stating that doing so could carry severe penalties under Islamic law. “Moreover,to cancel the nasab is⁣ a grave matter. To declare someone illegitimate based on DNA… you must then identify his father. If you cannot, you face a punishment of ⁢eighty lashes. Be‍ careful not to play with DNA,” he ​warned.

Buya Yahya concluded by urging ​Muslims to remain steadfast in their faith and ⁢adhere to established Sharia principles,resisting ⁣the temptation to base judgments on⁤ external factors like DNA test results.
