A shooting on Dairy Ashford Road in Sugar Land has resulted in one fatality and is connected to a series of killings in Houston, according to police. The incident prompted a shutdown of Dairy Ashford while investigators processed the scene and gathered evidence.
Houston Police Department (HPD) Lieutenant Larry Crowson confirmed the shootings are linked, revealing a suspect connected to the Sugar Land death was later found deceased in Houston with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The unfolding events have left communities shaken and raised questions about a possible motive, which remains unknown at this time.
The initial shooting occurred at a mechanic shop on Fondren Road near West Orem Drive. The suspect fatally shot a mechanic at the location, then shot and killed a bystander who began recording the scene, Crowson stated.
Following the Fondren Road shootings, HPD responded to a separate shooting in the 8000 block of Creekbend Drive near South Gessner road. Officers discovered the suspect dead inside a vehicle, suffering from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved. According to Lt. Crowson, the Sugar Land victim was a woman, while the three individuals who died in Houston were men.
The examination is ongoing, and police are working to determine the sequence of events and establish a motive for the shootings. Further updates will be provided as more data becomes available.
