Former No Surrender Leader Klaas Otto Arrested in Supermarket, Still Faces 3 Years in Prison

Klaas Otto, founder and former leader of motorcycle club No Surrender, was arrested on Friday in the supermarket in Bergen op Zoom. His lawyer confirms this. He still has to serve three years in prison.

Otto was shopping with his youngest son in the supermarket at the time of his arrest. That reports BN DeStem. “The way it was done was stupid,” says lawyer Louis de Leon. “If they had called him, he would have just come. But it is what it is.”

“They probably followed him on Instagram and apparently thought this was a good time.”

According to De Leon, the arrest concerns an old judgment. So no new investigation into Otto has been opened. “They probably followed him on Instagram and apparently thought this was a good time.” As a result, Otto now has to serve his remaining sentence.

Otto has spent a total of about ten years in prison in recent years. He was convicted of, among other things, money laundering, leading a crime organization (motor club No Surrender) and influencing witnesses.

Traffic Delays on A27 and A2 Highways during Monday Morning Rush Hour

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com December 11, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

There has been a delay of almost an hour and a half on the A27 highway between the Noordeloos and Hank junctions. There is a traffic jam of 12 kilometers in the direction of Breda. The left lane is closed due to an accident.

Traffic on the A2 in the direction of Utrecht is also not going well during the Monday morning rush hour. An additional travel time of one hour had to be taken into account between the Veghel and Waardenburg exits in Gelderland at seven o’clock. The cause was an accident. One of the lanes was closed for a while due to recovery work.

Just after seven o’clock the road was open again and the extra travel time decreased noticeably. Around five to half past seven it was about 40 minutes.

Controversy Surrounding Closure of Prinsenmeer Holiday Park: Is It Still Possible to Book a Holiday?

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com December 7, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

It appears to still be possible to book a holiday via the website of the Prinsenmeer holiday park in Ommel. On Wednesday it was announced that the park of the Oostappen Group of reality star Peter Gillis must be closed immediately after the outcome of a Bibob investigation. This investigation shows that there is a risk that the owner will use his permits for criminal purposes.

Holidaymakers must leave the site before Saturday. People who live permanently and therefore illegally in the park must also leave. In any case, they will have until sometime in January to find something else, the municipality said.

Weekend trip
It is unknown what happens to people who have already booked a holiday on Prinsenmeer. It seems clear that the holiday cannot go ahead, but it is not known whether money has already been refunded.

In any case, it was still possible to book a weekend in Prinsenmeer on Thursday afternoon. We chose an overnight stay in March and immediately received an email: “We look forward to welcoming you to our Prinsenmeer holiday park.” The costs for the overnight stay have also been debited.

No solution yet
Peter Gillis says that his lawyers are currently in discussions with the municipality. He is still looking for ways to reopen the park.

He does not know what happens to reservations that have already been partially paid. “That depends on the lawyers, but there probably won’t be many.”

Peter Gillis heard on Wednesday that his holiday park Prinsenmeer had to close:

Reckless Driving: The Tragic Case of Thomas de G. and the A59 Accident

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com December 5, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

“I was proud of the car.” 33-year-old Thomas de G. from Zevenbergschen Hoek will appear in court on Tuesday. In March he killed an entire family from Raamsdonksveer, including two children aged 10 and 13. He drove more than 250 kilometers per hour and made videos to show what his car could do.

The courtroom was packed with emotional relatives and other interested parties. There was also hardly any room left in the public gallery. “This is an exceptional case,” the judge outlined.

On March 10 this year, De G. drove recklessly on the A59 near Sprang-Capelle. He caused an accident in which the entire family from Raamsdonksveer died. A 10-year-old girl, her 13-year-old brother and their father and mother (both 46) did not survive.

The suspect was playing games at home that day and went to visit a friend. “Seven or eight bottles,” he had consumed at home. “That cannot be justified.” He also drank beer with that friend again.

Videos in the courtroom
Thomas de G. drove back home on the A59. On the highway he accelerated: he drove more than 250 kilometers per hour. Remarkable: he filmed the speedometer with his phone. “I was proud of what the car could do.”

“Then you must go to the circuit,” says the chairman of the court. “Why would you be proud of something like that?” Those videos were shown in court. “It was only at the police station that I heard that I had done that,” says De G., who reportedly suffered from blackouts.

The family turned left to overtake a truck when the suspect approached it. The family’s car crashed into the guardrail and caught fire. Thomas de G. and bystanders tried to open the doors of the car, but it was already too late. “I couldn’t open the door anymore,” De G sobbed.

The impact made the doors too twisted to open. “The victims met a terrible end,” the judge said. The mother of the family was not killed instantly. The car caught fire but victims had no chance to get out.

During an earlier hearing, the public prosecutor announced that Thomas de G. braked one second before the accident. “Just before the accident he was driving 254 kilometers per hour. At the time of the collision he was still driving 205,” the officer said at the time.

Deep mourning
Raamsdonksveer was in deep mourning after the death of the family. Interested parties came en masse to the funeral. When the four hearses containing the coffins arrived, members of the scouts from Raamsdonksveer formed a guard of honor. The Carnival organization Raamsdonksveer also deeply mourned the loss of their councilor and youth councilor.

A 41-year-old man from Breda has been in pre-trial detention since September 6 for allegedly threatening to use explosives at the Media Park in Hilversum. This was reported by the weekly magazine Panorama.

It is not clear whether the man actually had the explosives with him. But the threat was so great on September 6 that he was arrested. He has now been in pre-trial detention for a month, the report said Panorama.

The threat is said to be aimed at the building of BNNVARA and NTR, an educational broadcaster. BNNVARA does not want to say whether employees of the broadcasters received anything from the threat. A spokesperson said she would not comment on the matter.
