Romanian AI Startup Gaang Secures โฌ1.6 Million to Revolutionize Online meetings with AI Assistant
Bucharest, โRomania – Gaang,โ a Romanian AI startup founded by former Ericsson colleagues, has โฃannounced a new funding round of โฌ1.6 million. The investment, โขled by Earlyโ Game Ventures (EGV), includes support from European funds allocated through Romania’s National Plan for Recovery and Resilience (PNRR), alongside participationโฃ from Inspire Capital. This latest funding builds on previous investments totalingโข โฌ650,000 received in 2021 and 2022.
Gaang is โdeveloping an AI-powered assistant designedโฃ to transform the way teams conduct and benefit from online meetings. The company, launched inโ 2020 by Iulian โGheorghe, Raluca Trofin, and โDan Huru, addresses โฃa growing need for enhanced productivity and actionable insights โฃin the increasingly virtual workplace.
Beyond Note-Taking: An Active AI Participant
The Gaang assistant seamlesslyโ integrates with popular platforms like Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, โขand Zoom. Unlike customary meeting tools that passively record transcripts, Gaang’s AI actively participates โฃin conversations. Following meetings, it delivers comprehensiveโ summaries, minutes, key conclusions, identified concerns, and assigned tasks directly to participantsโ via email. For managers, โGaang offers a dedicated analytics section providing valuable data and insights into team dynamics, meeting effectiveness, and actionable recommendations for betterment. Theโข company envisions a future where online meetings are not just about communication, but also about training, workflow initiation, and proactive task management – and aims to be at the forefront of this โevolution.
Fueling Expansion and AI Progress
This new funding will be instrumental in Gaang’s expansion and the continued โdevelopment of its AI-driven platform. The company is focused on evolving its product into aโ fully-fledged AI-powered work habitat, moving beyond simple โassistance to actively contribute to meeting outcomes.
“In the era of artificial intelligence, online meetings are evolving,” a Gaang spokesperson stated. “We want to change theโ current situation where meeting tools play a passiveโ role. Weโ are building an actively โคparticipating assistant โthat will redefine how teams collaborateโ and achieve results in the virtual world.”
The investmentโ from EGV II, a โฌ60 million fund with โฌ30 million assured capital from the โฃRecovery Equity โfund (PNRR/Next Generation EU), underscores the growing confidence in Romania’s burgeoning tech startup โคscene. โค
